The celebrated new production of D.L. Coburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, The Gin Game, directed by Leonard Foglia and starring legendary actors James Earl Jones and Cicely Tyson, will add four performances in December and January, BroadwayWorld has learned.
On Wednesday, April 9, more than 270 friends of God's Love We Deliver gathered at the 11th Annual Authors In Kind. This literary luncheon, held at the Metropolitan Club, was emceed by Board Member, author extraordinaire and Authors In Kind founder, Linda Fairstein. Linda introduced each guest author, who then took the podium to share anecdotes and remarks about their work to the delight of our many guests. ADEPERO ODUYE will assume the role of Thelma in the critically acclaimed revival of Horton Foote's American masterpiece, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, on Tuesday, July 16th. Oduye is best known for her acclaimed breakout role in Dee Ree's Sundance film, Pariah, and for her performance opposite Queen Latifah, Alfre Woodard and Phylicia Rashad in the Lifetime Television movie, Steel Magnolias. Condola Rashad, who also co-starred with Oduye in Steel Magnolias, played her final performance as Thelma on Sunday, July 14.
