Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons have returned to Broadway to star together in the world premiere of Impressionism, a new American play by Michael Jacobs opening at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on Tuesday March 24, 2009. The production, directed by Tony Award-winner Jack O'Brien began preview performances on February 28. The cast features Marsha Mason, André De Shields, Michael T. Weiss, Aaron Lazar, Margarita Levieva and Hadley Delany.

Impressionism's creative team is Scott Pask (scenic design), Catherine Zuber (costume design), Natasha Katz (lighting design), Elaine McCarthy (projection design) and Leon Rothenberg (sound design). Original music is by Bob James.

The production marks Ms. Allen's first return to Broadway since The Heidi Chronicles in 1989, and Mr. Irons' first time on Broadway since The Real Thing in 1984.

Impressionism is produced by Ostar Productions, Roy Furman, Stephanie P. Impressionism is the story of a world traveling photojournalist and a New York gallery owner who discover each other and also that there might be an art to repairing broken lives.
