The Axelrod Performing Arts Center Will Debut MATILDA in March

The Axelrod Performing Arts Center opens 'Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical' on Saturday, March 7, in a brand-new production created by Broadway director-choreographer Luis Salgado. 'Matilda' will run for three weekends through March 22.

AGATHA CHRISTIE'S THE PALE HORSE Premieres March 13 on Prime Video

On March 13, 2020, Amazon Prime Video will premiere Agatha Christie's The Pale Horse in the US. The bewitching two-part mystery stars Emmy and BAFTA-nominated actor, Rufus Sewell (The Man in the High Castle). BAFTA-nominated writer, Sarah Phelps, adapted the acclaimed 1961 novel for television and served as executive producer.

Kaufman Music Center Announces Ecstatic Music Series Lineup

In February, Kaufman Music Center's Ecstatic Music series presents one of its most eagerly-awaited programs: an evening with acclaimed composer/performers Missy Mazzoli and Kelly Moran (February 29), who will perform solo sets with piano, keyboards, and electronics, and give the world premiere of Mazzoli's The Night Ahead and No Real Fate. Violinist Olivia De Prato (Mivos Quartet) will join Mazzoli on selected pieces. This concert at Merkin Hall is part of Ecstatic Music's 10th anniversary season, and a New Sounds Live co-presentation, hosted by John Schaefer and streamed live at newsounds.org.

Star Parks Announces New Album 'The New Sounds of Late Capitalism'

Austin-based band Star Parks has announced the release of their sophomore record The New Sounds of Late Capitalism out February 14 via Modern Outsider (pre-order). Today the band shared 'Something More' the latest single to be lifted from the release with PopMatters and the song will be on all streaming services on Wednesday. About the song PopMatters says, 'Having grown from a solo act to an expansive, multi-piece orchestra, Star Parks offer listeners a sophisticated, soulful pop sound that lands somewhere between Roxy Music and Saturday Looks Good yet carries a particular combination of starkness and buoyancy. If these are the sounds of late capitalism, at least we can shake our groove thing as the chairs shift on the deck, and the water rises. If we've seen this movie before, we at least know that the band plays on.'

Christopher Paul Stelling Shares 'Lucky Stars'

Christopher Paul Stelling's new album Best Of Luck is a supremely accessible and finely crafted record that deftly merges genres. Producer Ben Harper, who has previously produced records by Mavis Staples, Rickie Lee Jones, The Blind Boys of Alabama and more, recruited an all-star rhythm section with Jimmy Paxson (Stevie Nicks, Dixie Chicks) on drums and upright bass player Mike Valerio (Randy Newman, LA Philharmonic) to lend a versatility and finesse. “I really believe this record is the intersection where folk and soul meet,” Harper says.

ACT (A Contemporary Theatre) of Connecticut has announced the second show of its 2019-2020 season - a modernized, reimagined interpretation of Stephen Schwartz's GODSPELL. Directed by ACT of CT's Founder and Artistic Director Daniel C. Levine, GODSPELL marks the second production of ACT of CT's 'Presenting Stephen Schwartz Series!' This re-conceived version of Schwartz's revolutionary show follows ACT of CT's critically acclaimed interpretation of Schwartz's WORKING, which has had an exciting life after it premiered at ACT of CT.

America's Got Talent's Brian Justin Crum Hits Chicago Theatre Scene!
