Annie Get Your Gun is a tried and true musical gem from the Golden Age. The music by Irving Berlin is the major highlight with a book by Herbert and Dorothy Fields, updated by Peter Stone, about the life and times of Annie Oakley (Jamie Mills) focusing on her romance with sharpshooter Frank Butler (Brent Schindele through March 18/Johnny Fletcher from 3/23-4/14). Goodspeed Musicals kicks off its 2018 season with the Broadway hit The Will Rogers Follies, A Life In Revue. The exuberant dance-filled musical will be running April 13 - June 21 at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, Conn.

As magical as the evening was, after Freddie Gershon gave an impassioned presentation to the duo, Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones hit the stage and brought the house down at ages 88 and 89 respectively. They joined forces onstage to perform a song from their musical The Bone Room, described by Jones as being about 'the pleasures of dying and being embalmed in this great country of ours.' Casting has been confirmed for the first ever UK & Ireland tour of Titanic The Musical. Directed by returning director Thom Southerland, 25 actors from across the country will take the production on its maiden UK and Ireland tour, to visit the cities and communities whose forebears built, manned and sailed on the famous ship. Titanic the musical will dock at the King's Theatre, Glasgow from Monday 28 May 2018 until Saturday 2 June 2018.

The York Theatre Company honored legendary musical theatre writing team Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt (The Fantasticks, I Do, I Do!, 110 in the Shade, Celebration) with the 2017 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre at the 26th Oscar Hammerstein Award Gala on Monday evening, December 4, 2017 at The Asia Society (725 Park Avenue).
