Tedra Millan (The Wolves, Present Laughter), will star in an industry reading of Late Summer Scenes by emerging playwright David Glass (Experimental Design for Biologists), and directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (Theresa Rebeck's Downstairs, Hatef**k) on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Open Jar Studios (1601 Broadway).

Irondale, Brooklyn's leading theatrical think-tank theater ensemble, in partnership with the New York Police Department, have selected the participants of the 7th cycle of To Protect, Serve, and Understand and begun the 10-week, 40-hour workshop rooted in social change. Following the 40-hour workshop series, the combined group of officers and community members will present an original performance May 17-18, telling their own stories as well as the stories of others, through improvisations and monologues.

THE GREEN ROOM 42 - Broadway's newest intimate concert venue - will celebrate its second birthday with the return of Tony Award winner Lillias Whitewith a Valentine's Day show tonight, Thursday, February 14 at 7:00 PM. White opened the room on Valentine's Day in 2017 and returned last year for the club's special first anniversary. With music direction by Alvin Hough, Jr. (The Color Purple and Once On This Island) and direction by Will Nunziata (Our Guy, Cy and Kander & Ebb's The Act), the evening will explore the power of self-love through soul, sass, and song. Tunes include those written by Smokey Robinson, Cy Coleman, Alan & Marilyn Bergman, William Finn, Hoagy Carmichael, Betty Comden & Adolph Green, Stephen Flaherty & Lynn Ahrens, and more.

Wilson MCC Theater Space. AARP The Magazine today announced the nominees for the upcoming 18th Annual Movies for Grownups® Awards, with A Star Is Born, BlacKkKlansman, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Green Book and Roma contending in the Best Picture/Best Movie for Grownups category. The awards celebrate 2018's standout films with unique appeal to movie lovers with a grownup state of mind and recognize the inspiring artists who make them. Celebrated comedian and actor Martin Short will host the star-studded evening at the Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills on Monday, February 4.
