Dances For A Variable Population Presents REVIVAL 3

Celebrating women, dance and the beauty of age, Dances For A Variable Population (DVP) will present three performances and two interactive workshops of REVIVAL 3: It's About Time, an outdoor public dance project featuring 10 legendary dance artists and 75 non-professional senior dancers, who in some ways allow us to become time-travelers.

The Annenberg Center And NextMove Dance Present New Season

Orchestra Of St. Luke's Bach Festival Launches In June

The inaugural season of OSL Bach Festival will feature three weeks of orchestral, chamber, and dance performances in multiple venues. The Festival's programmatic centerpieces, representing the theme of "Transformation," include performances by Paul Taylor Dance Company and twin interpretations of the Goldberg Variations, including the U.S. premiere of Bernard Labadie's arrangement of the keyboard work for Baroque ensemble.

Theatre Of Yugen Presents RESONANCE III

In this solo concert, RESONANCE III, Miki Orihara will be dancing Martha Graham's 'Lamentation (1930)', Doris Humphrey's 'Two Ecstatic Themes (1931)', Seiko Takata's work 'Mother (1938)' Konami Ishii's 'Moon Desert (early 1930's)' and Yuriko's 'Cry (1963)'.

Take Dance Presents The Premiere Of IN THE SEA OF HEAVEN

TAKE Dance, the New York City-based contemporary dance company l;ed by Artistic Director/Founder Takehiro Ueyama, presents In the Sea of Heaven, an evening of works by Ueyama and renowned choreographer/master teacher Kazuko Hirabayashi (1933-2016),  June 5-8 at 7 PM at The Flea, 20 Thomas Street.  The TAKE dancers are a splendid ensemble, with credits that include the companies of Paul Taylor, Mark Morris, Jacqulyn Buglisi and Sean Curran.

Orchestra of St. Luke's Announces 2019–2020 Season

Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) announced details of its 2019–2020 season—the Orchestra's 45th—including a season-wide celebration of Beethoven's 250th birthday in programs on its signature Chamber Music Series, orchestra concerts presented by Carnegie Hall, and free school concerts.

The Washington Ballet Announces Dancer Exchange With The Royal Danish Ballet

The Washington Ballet (TWB) is pleased to announce the dancers taking part in this season's exchange program with The Royal Danish Ballet. TWB's Alexandros Pappajohn traveled to Copenhagen, Denmark on April 8 for two months and has been cast in Lady of the Camellias. Tobias Praetorius a member of The Royal Danish Ballet Corps de Ballet performed with TWB in the company's Three World Premieres at The Harman Center April 3-7, 2019. He had a lead role in Trey McIntyre's Teeming Waltzes.

Northrop Announces 2019-20 Season

Northrop announced its 2019-20 Season today, featuring its signature Dance Series comprising 10 renowned dance companies in performances ranging from The Great Gatsby to George Balanchine's famous Jewels, as well as a Music Series that spotlights Northrop's restored pipe organ in concerts by Branford Marsalis with organist Jean-Willy Kunz and the Minnesota Orchestra featuring revolutionary organist Cameron Carpenter. Venetia Stifler, executive and artistic director of the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, on behalf of the 2019 Ruth Page Award Committee, awarded the 2019 Ruth Page Awards to Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and its Artistic Director Robert Battle and Chicago Dance History Project and its Artistic and Executive Director Jenai Cutcher. The special event took place Friday, March 8 before the sold-out performance of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater celebrating its 60th anniversary as a company and the 50th anniversary of performing at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, 50 E. Ida B. Wells Dr.

Jacob's Pillow announces the complete schedule of Festival 2019. Jacob Jonas The Company makes its final appearance as the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' 2018/2019 Company-In-Residence with a powerful and thought-provoking program featuring two world premieres, including viceversa, a collaboration choreographed and performed by Artistic Director Jacob Jonas and acclaimed director and choreographer Daniel Ezralow, on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 7:30 pm, in The Wallis' Bram Goldsmith Theater.
