Spring 2020 programs have been announced at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.

The American Dance Festival (ADF) today announced the schedule for its 87th season, running June 18-July 25, 2020. The season includes performances by both new and established companies, highlighting the breadth and excellence of today's modern dance field.

The renowned Taylor 2 Dance Company will perform at Kean University's Wilkins Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 21.

Throughout his remarkable 64-year career, Paul Taylor was a trail-blazer in the world of modern dance. When he died in 2018 at age 88, he left behind a legacy of masterworks unrivaled by any other modern dance artist. His life and legacy are the focus of The Celebration Tour, coming to Northrop on Sat, Mar 21. While presenters worldwide have been honoring Taylor with different versions of The Celebration Tour, Northrop's program reveals the incredible range of this legendary choreographer in three masterfully crafted and emotionally powerful works, demonstrating Taylor's keen understanding of a?oethe light and the darka?? of the human experience, performed by many of the dancers who completely embody his style.

The theatre stars aligned this past Sunday for the 20th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards at the Prince of Wales Theatre, which shrug off its usual Mormon clothes for the occasion. Marking this huge milestone, the team turned it up a notch and celebrated in style, with Paul Taylor-Mills as a producer.

At a ceremony tonight at the Prince of Wales Theatre hosted by Jodie Prenger and Tom Read Wilson, the winners of the 20th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards were announced. For the first time this year the event was broadcast live on BBC Radio 2 hosted by Elaine Paige and Paddy O'Connell.

Blue Man Group New York, the original home of the international entertainment phenomenon, proudly announces the appointment of Tim Robinson as the new Resident General Manager of the Astor Place Theatre. Robinson joins Blue Man Group with more than 25 years of professional entertainment management around the country, including the Paul Taylor Dance Company in New York, Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas and the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago.

The Metropolitan Opera will present a new production of Wagner's early masterpiece Der Fliegende Holländer on March 2, 2020, with performances continuing through March 27. Valery Gergiev conducts the new staging from director François Girard, whose interpretation is centered on the young woman Senta's obsession with a portrait of the Dutchman.

WhatsOnStage announce the presenters of the individual awards: Aimie Atkinson, Amy Booth-Steel, Amy Hart, Max Harwood, Tyrone Huntley, John Kani, Oti Mabusi, Danny Mac, Daniel Monks, Vinegar Strokes, Liam Tamne, Giles Terera, Faye Tozer and Susan Wokoma. In addition, Maureen Beattie will present the Equity Award for Services to Theatre; and Elaine Paige will present the BBC Radio 2 Audience Award for Best Musical.

This September, Founder Diane Jacobowitz will step off as Executive Director of Dancewave, a leading, socially conscious nonprofit organization known for empowering youth through dance opportunities across New York City and beyond. Jacobowitz will be honored for her Lifetime Achievement during Dancewave's upcoming gala taking place on Wednesday, April 22nd at 501 Union in Brooklyn, NY.
