Paul Taylor Dance Company Returns To The Eisemann Center Next Month

Dance maker Paul Taylor first presented his choreography with five other dancers in Manhattan on May 30, 1954. That modest performance marked the beginning of 64 years of unrivaled creativity, and in the decades that followed, Mr. Taylor became a cultural icon and one of American history's most celebrated artists, hailed as part of the pantheon that created American modern dance. 

Yan Chen Joins Full-Time Faculty Of American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School And ABT Studio Company 

Yan Chen, former Soloist with American Ballet Theatre, has been named to the dual positions of Principal Teacher for the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School Pre-Professional Division and Rehearsal Director for ABT Studio Company. The appointments, effective September 6, were announced by Stella Abrera, Acting Artistic Director of the ABT JKO School and Sascha Radetsky, Artistic Director of ABT Studio Company.

Dancemaker Paul Taylor (1930-2018) first presented his choreography with five other dancers in Manhattan on May 30, 1954. That modest performance marked the beginning of a profound, uninterrupted creative output that shaped the future of American modern dance. His dance company returns to The Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH, under Taylor's successor Michael Novak. 

School Of Philadelphia Ballet Welcomes Jessica Kilpatrick And Andrea Long

Philadelphia Ballet has announced the addition of two new leading dance educators to the School of Philadelphia Ballet: Jessica Kilpatrick and Andrea Long. Kilpatrick, formerly Principal of Children's and Adult Programs at the School, re-joins the faculty as Principal, Lower School & Adult Programs.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Announces Highlights Of 2022 New York City Center Season

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, New York City Center's Principal Dance Company and America's cultural ambassador to the world, announces highlights of its always-anticipated annual season at New York City Center. Returning to its “home” theater for four weeks from November 30 - December 24, 2022, the Ailey company will present a world premiere by Kyle Abraham, the company premiere of Twyla Tharp's Roy's Joys, and a new production of Alvin Ailey's Survivors.

Erasing Borders Dance Festival Kicks Off Next Month

The Indo-American Arts Council announces the always eagerly anticipated dance performances, this year including special events to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India's Independence Day, August 15.  The celebration will feature two live performances, August 6 & 7 at the Ailey Citigroup Theatre, and a virtual August 8th streaming with artists from India, Canada, and the U.S.
