The Emelin Theatre for the Performing Arts is celebrating its 50th anniversary year with a Gala on November 3 featuring Broadway Star Mandy Gonzalez (Hamilton, In The Heights, Wicked).

Eight years after its original Off-Broadway run, Heathers the Musical has made its way to The Roku Channel. BroadwayWorld caught up with Heathers director Andy Fickman to discuss the musical's journey, how it has grown since its Off-Broadway run, the musical's cult following, and where the show might be headed next.

Dance maker Paul Taylor first presented his choreography with five other dancers in Manhattan on May 30, 1954. That modest performance marked the beginning of 64 years of unrivaled creativity, and in the decades that followed, Mr. Taylor became a cultural icon and one of American history's most celebrated artists, hailed as part of the pantheon that created American modern dance. 

The Paul Taylor Dance Company (PTDC) will return to the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for its highly-anticipated New York City Season from November 1 to November 13, 2022.

Yan Chen, former Soloist with American Ballet Theatre, has been named to the dual positions of Principal Teacher for the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School Pre-Professional Division and Rehearsal Director for ABT Studio Company. The appointments, effective September 6, were announced by Stella Abrera, Acting Artistic Director of the ABT JKO School and Sascha Radetsky, Artistic Director of ABT Studio Company.

Roku has shared the trailer for their live capture of the stage adaptation of the hit West End musical 'Heathers: The Musical.' Andy Fickman directs the musical, with book, music and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O'Keefe. Fickman, Murphy and O'Keefe will also produce. Watch the new video trailer now!

With the graduating cast leaving the halls of Westerberg High, it’s time to welcome in some new students to the cast of Heathers the Musical. Taking on the role of high school geek Veronica Sawyer will be Erin Caldwell and at her side as the dark and moody teen Jason ‘J.D’ Dean is Nathanael Landskroner.

His dance company returns to The Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH, under Taylor's successor Michael Novak. 

Philadelphia Ballet has announced the addition of two new leading dance educators to the School of Philadelphia Ballet: Jessica Kilpatrick and Andrea Long. Kilpatrick, formerly Principal of Children's and Adult Programs at the School, re-joins the faculty as Principal, Lower School & Adult Programs.

My Son’s A Queer, (But What Can You Do?) written by and performed by Rob Madge (Oliver!, Les Misérables) and directed by Luke Sheppard (& Juliet, In The Heights) celebrates the joy and chaos of raising a queer child, and originally had a critically acclaimed, and sold out run at the Turbine Theatre in 2021.

Alex Katz: Theater and Dance is the first comprehensive museum exhibition of artist Alex Katz's highly collaborative and playful work with choreographers, dancers, and members of avant-garde theater ensembles.

The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL) presents the 5th Annual Riverfront Jazz Festival, Sept 2 – 4 in Dallas, Texas.   For three days over the Labor Day weekend, on three stages at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center the Festival will present over 50 of the world's best mainstream, cutting-edge, traditional and contemporary artists.

Roku announced that it will exclusively bring a live capture of the stage adaptation of the hit West End musical “Heathers: The Musical” to The Roku Channel as a Roku Original special. New York City Ballet will present its tenth annual Fall Fashion Gala on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 7pm at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. This year’s event will honor Sarah Jessica Parker, a vice chair of the NYCB Board of Directors, who conceived the Fall Fashion Gala in 2012.

The Other Palace has announced that following the world premiere of the new musical Millennials, written and composed by Elliot Clay, the show will extend for a further 4 weeks of performances over the summer, due to finish on Sunday 4 September 2022.
