Paul McCartney's Egypt Station (Capitol Records) has entered the Billboard 200 at #1, making it the third Non-Beatles/Wings McCartney effort to top the U.S. chart and Paul's first Stateside #1 since 1982's Tug Of War. Earning  153,000 equivalent album units, Egypt Station is Paul's first solo album to enter the chart at #1. Since beginning a new and profound direction on his creative journey with the 1970 release of his debut solo album, McCartney, Paul has sold over 100 million albums and singles worldwide.

Downtown Sioux Falls saw an invasion Thursday and Friday night - a British Invasion that is - as Good Night Theatre Collective kicked off their third season with their British Invasion Cabaret featuring artists from across the pond.

On September 19, the public television series Speakeasy will film an episode featuring Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Billy F Gibbons, guitarist/vocalist for Texas trio ZZ Top, in conversation with WFUV personality Eric Holland at The Iridium in New York City.  Doors will open at 6:30 pm with the taping beginning at 8:00 pm. 'I Dig Rock And Roll Music' celebrates the folk-rock era of the '60s and '70s utilizing a six-person band, three of whom were featured in the successful theatrical concert 'Lonesome Traveler.' The show includes hit songs from the folk-rock movement, including protest songs like 'Ohio,' 'For What It's Worth' and others, as well as newly composed songs for the modern era, such as Trevor Wheetman's incendiary 'Dangerous Clown' and Sylvie Davidson's 'Can't Stop That Train.'

THE GREEN ROOM 42 will present the return of Reeve Carney on Today, September 12 at 9:30 PM before he heads to London to star in the acclaimed Broadway-bound musical Hadestown at the National Theatre. Reeve is best known for his portrayal of Dorian Gray in Showtime's 'Penny Dreadful,' Riff Raff in Fox TV's Rocky Horror Picture Show reimagining, as well as originating the role of Peter Parker in Julie Taymor and U2's Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark. Featuring selections from his five-time Independent Music Award-winning album, Youth Is Wasted, as well a few surprises from the Broadway canon and the Great American Songbook, Reeve delivers a one-man-show that feels more like an invitation only after-party than traditional concert performance.

It is a fantastic time for fantasy novels.
