Leeds Playhouse has revealed the full cast for Brassed Off, a major new staging directed by Olivier Award‑nominated and UK Theatre Awards winner Amy Leach.

The full cast and creative team has been announced ahead of the limited West End run of Midnight in the Toyshop, a new family theatre adventure, which plays at London’s St Martin’s Theatre between Tuesday 7 and Sunday 12 April. 

The full cast has been announced for byting new musical comedy from the co-creators of 1999 hip-hop sensation The Bomb-itty of Errors (runs in London West End, Off-Broadway and internationally).

A new production of the much-loved modern classic Brassed Off opens at Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre in August.

The Jesus Lizard, undeniably one of the most iconic and influential bands to emerge in the late 20th century, return with Rack, their first new album since 1998’s Blue, on Sept. 13. A preview of the 11-song album is available now with the release of “Hide & Seek,” a track David Yow describes as “a perky ditty about a witch who can’t behave, and it’s got nearly as many hooks as a Mike Tyson fight.” Listen to the new track!

Scarborough's Stephen Joseph Theatre and co-producers Theatre by the Lake in Keswick and the Octagon Theatre Bolton have announced the cast for this summer's production of the much-loved modern classic, Brassed Off.

A year of shows from Scarborough's SJT has been unveiled, including adaptations of two classic novels, two stirring Yorkshire stories, a sparkling Christmas show and the 90th play, no less, from the SJT's Director Emeritus, Alan Ayckbourn.

On Wednesday, December 9 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time, David J. Anderson, Caltech's Seymour Benzer Professor of Biology; the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience Leadership Chair; director of the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience; and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator, continues the 2020–2021 Watson Lecture season by exploring “The Inner Life of the Brain: Fear, Sex, and Violence.”

Musical legends Mariah Carey, Annie Lennox / Dave Stewart p/k/a Eurythmics, Ernie Isley / Marvin Isley / O'Kelly Isley / Ronald Isley / Rudolph Isley / Chris Jasper p/k/a The Isley Brothers, Steve Miller, Chad Hugo / Pharrell Williams p/k/a The Neptunes, Rick Nowels and William “Mickey” Stevenson will become the latest inductees of the Songwriters Hall of Fame at the organization's 51st Annual Induction and Awards Dinner. These legendary songwriters wrote mega-hits such as, 'Vision of Love,”  “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” “Shout,” “The Joker,” “Hollaback Girl,” “Heaven is a Place on Earth,” and “Dancing In The Street.” The star-studded induction event is slated for Thursday, June 11th at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival wrapped up its 2019 season October 26-27 with the final performances of Mother Road, How to Catch Creation, As You Like It, La Comedia of Errors, Indecent, Between Two Knees, Hairspray a?" The Broadway Musical, and Cambodian Rock Band. Preparations for the 2020 season and this month's 2020 Member Presale are already underway. The 2020 opening weekend is March 6-March 8; preview performances begin February 28.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival invites audiences to enjoy two plays by William Shakespeare-plus one about a young girl with a crucial superpower, curiosity, and the beloved fantastical dream adventure in which she tries to figure out how to stay true to who she is-under the stars when its flagship outdoor theatre opens the weekend of June 7-9, 2019. The Allen Elizabethan Theatre will feature Macbeth, directed by Jose Luis Valenzuela; Alice in Wonderland, adapted from Lewis Carroll by Eve Le Gallienne and Florida Friebus, directed by Sara Bruner; and All's Well That Ends Well, directed by Tracy Young. Previews begin May 28, and all three shows will run through the weekend of October 11-13.

'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' is a macabre musical masterpiece with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Hugh Wheeler. It is based on the 1973 play by Christopher Bond.

The Tony Award winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) will launch its 84th year and Bill Rauch's final season as artistic director with preview performances beginning on March 1. The 2019 season officially kicks off Friday night, March 8, in the Angus Bowmer Theatre with Shakespeare's As You Like It (director, Rosa Joshi). On Saturday afternoon, Cambodian Rock Band (director, Chay Yew) opens in the Thomas Theatre, and Hairspray The Broadway Musical (director, Christopher Liam Moore) opens that evening in the Angus Bowmer Theatre. On Sunday afternoon, the drama by Southern Oregon based playwright Octavio Solis, Mother Road (director, Bill Rauch), will see its world premiere in the Angus Bowmer Theatre.

Paul Taylor-Mills has announced full casting for the Taster Menu series of new musicals featuring as part of MT Fest UK. Playing at The Other Palace from Monday 11 to Saturday 23 February, the series will showcase eight new musicals through 45-minute semi-staged sharings.

As seen on NBC's TODAY, country music star, and Grand Ole Opry veteran Tim Atwood was recently reunited onstage with fifty-one year Grand Ole Opry member, and country music icon, Jeannie Seely. Atwood & Seely - who've accompanied each other many times over the years on the Grand Ole Opry stage - performed a duet of Bill Gaither's gospel classic “There's Something About That Name' at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena for the Fifth Annual 'Nashville Senior Christmas ShinnDig.'

Country music royalty and a fifty-one year member of the Grand Ole Opry, Jeannie Seely, took the stage on Friday, December 14 at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena for the Fifth Annual Nashville Senior Christmas ShinnDig for a very special performance of "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" and "I'll Be Home For Christmas." Seely also joined Tim Atwood on his performance of "Something About that Name". Performers in addition to Seely and Atwood included Kathie Lee Gifford, Charlie McCoy, Julie Roberts, Matt Bagher, Paul Allen Coon and Sarah Martin.

On December 4, 2018 the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) presented American musician, singer, and songwriter John Fogerty with its 12thannual Founders Award, an honor given to artists who have made outstanding contributions in popular music. The award was presented by Alexis Lee, Executive Director of MoPOP, during the museum's annual fundraiser which this year generated over $950 thousand for the museum. 

Premium television network EPIX® announced today that production has commenced on its original modern noir drama series Our Lady, LTD, with Damon Herriman (100 Bloody Acres), Chris Conrad (Patriot), Terry O'Quinn (Patriot, Castle Rock) and Hana Mae Lee (Pitch Perfect).  The newly announced cast joins previously announced Academy Award® winner Sir Ben Kingsley, two-time Academy Award nominee Jacki Weaver, Jimmi Simpson, Luis Guzman, and Kurtwood Smith. Steve Conrad (Wonder, Patriot) and Bruce Terris (Patriot) serve as executive producers and showrunners, with Conrad directing six episodes. The series, slated for a 2019 premiere on EPIX, is produced by MGM Television and internationally distributed by MGM.
