Gearing up for its sixth edition in Reykjavík, Iceland, Secret Solstice welcomes the return of its once-in-a-lifetime add-on events this June 21-23, 2019. Taking place within ultra rare and exclusive settings amongst Iceland's otherworldly landscapes, this year's nature-inspired musical side events will include Into The Glacier with Martin Garrix and Marc Kinchen (MK) as well as The Lava Tunnel with to-be-announced acts. The Music Business Association (Music Biz) today announces this year's inductees for its Music Business Hall of Fame, including the late Sir George Martin, who will be inducted by his son Giles Martin. This year's honorees will be recognized during the Music Biz 2019 Awards & Hall of Fame Dinner -- sponsored by BuzzAngle Music, City National Bank, Cracker Barrel, Jammber, and TiVo -- as part of Music Biz's Annual Conference on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 pm.

Alex Harris, the Texas-hailing Atlanta-based rising alternative R&B singer-songwriter, releases the visual for his track '5 Miles,' out today via RED MUSIC. The song is a standout from Harris's recently released genre-bending debut EP Pink Cloud, which dropped last month, and fuses classic and current pop, hip-hop, alternative, and R&B melodies while showcasing lyrics penned by Harris that detail his personal journey as an artist coming into his own. Secret Solstice, Iceland's Midnight Sun music and culture festival, is pleased to present their phase two lineup for its sixth edition this June 21-23, 2019 in Reykjavik, Iceland during 72 hours of non-stop sunlight. Performing in Iceland for the first time, Secret Solstice is honored to welcome legendary hip-hop/pop group Black Eyed Peas. Also announced is the queen of punk rock Patti Smith and Band alongside hip hop icons The Sugarhill Gang with Grandmaster Melle Mel & Scorpio (of the Furious 5). These acts add to previously announced headliners Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters, Martin Garrix, Rita Ora and Morcheeba. UMS To Present World Premiere Of Immersive Theater Work On Robert Mapplethorpe

The University Musical Society of the University of Michigan presents the world premiere of a new theater piece on the work of controversial photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, Friday-Saturday, March 15-16 at the Power Center for the Performing Arts in Ann Arbor, MI. Composed by Bryce Dessner, with a libretto by Korde Arrington Tuttle that includes poetry by Essex Hemphill and Patti Smith, Mapplethorpe's longtime creative muse, Triptych (Eyes of One on Another) premieres 30 years after Mapplethorpe's untimely death from AIDS at the age of 42.
