NO BOUNDARIES: A SERIES OF GLOBAL PERFORMANCES, presented by Yale Repertory Theatre (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) and World Performance Project at Yale (Joseph Roach, Principal Investigator; Emily Coates, Artistic Director), announces its 2009-2010 season, which includes Wordwood by Theatre of the Eighth Day (Teatr Ósmego Dnia); The Be(A)st of Taylor Mac written and performed by Taylor Mac; and Baby-Q's MESs by Yoko Higashino and Toshio Kajiwara.

Sand Springs Community Theatre Set To Hold Auditions For QUILTERS 8/8-9

Auditions are August 8-9, at their new location at Charles Page High School Performing Arts Auditorium - Park and Adams Road (turn North at Adams Road exit). Although the website says they will cast 7 women, they will probably cast more than that. The script is not set in stone for 7, so roll on out and come audition with them! This first show, as always, will be our fundraiser show, so it should be a lot of fun and a real crowd pleaser.

Although operetta wasn't completely on its way out when Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II brought Music In The Air to Broadway in 1932, the popularity of the genre was indeed waning a bit as jazzy and witty scores by the likes of George and Ira Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart and Cole Porter dominated the decade's theatre music. But the creators of Show Boat, just five years earlier, weren't done quite yet.
