The much-anticipated winners of the 2021 International Opera Awards sponsored by Mazars were announced in an online ceremony watched around the world. The Awards, considered opera's answer to the Oscars, celebrate achievements in opera around the globe over the last calendar year in a wide range of categories.

On Friday 30 April at 7pm GMT Royal Opera House will present 8bit - a series of eight newly-commissioned, experimental experiences of digital opera – bringing together some of the most innovative contemporary artists. 

On Friday 23 April at 7pm GMT The Royal Opera House will unveil ROH Unmasked, a free, 30-minute, ROH-produced short film, that gets under the skin of one of the world's most famous theatres, reflecting on the experience of its community of musicians, singers, technicians, craftspeople, staff and producers.

Today the Royal Opera House has announced more details of its schedule of in-person and streamed Spring and Summer performances, with public booking opening on 7 May 2021 and the doors opening to socially-distanced, in-person audiences from 17 May 2021.  

Booking is now open for the Royal Opera House’s first live broadcast of 2021 – Bertolt Brecht’s and Kurt Weill’s The Seven Deadly Sins and Mahagonny Songspiel. Produced by the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme, the double bill will be streamed live from the Main Stage in Covent Garden on 9 April at 7.30pm GMT.
