Pegasus Opera Company Present the UK Premiere of SHAW GOES WILDE

Following last year's successful run of Ruth and The Dark Lady of the Sonnet, Pegasus Opera Company presents another outstanding opera double bill titled Shaw Goes Wilde. The productions are based on Oscar Wilde's The Nightingale and The Rose and George Bernard Shaw's The Music Cure. The two one act shows will be performed on Friday 12, Saturday 13 at 7.30pm and Sunday 14 April at 2.30pm at the new Susie Sainsbury Theatre, Royal Academy of Music, London, NW1 5HT.

Guest presenters will offer exclusive performance insights during the Royal Opera House Cinema Festival, which opens on Monday 3 December in the state-of-the-art Linbury Theatre. Famous faces include former Royal Ballet Principal Darcey Bussell (presenting Sylvia, 7 December, 7pm) and Music Director of The Royal Opera Antonio Pappano (presenting Otello, 21 December, 7pm, and The Flying Dutchman, 29 December, 7pm). The festival, which includes 11 free opera and ballet performances for children, runs until Sunday 6 January.

Manon Lescaut, sponsored by Viking Cruises, opens the season with the British lyric soprano Elizabeth Llewellyn in the title role. Named 'Best newcomer in opera' by The Telegraph in 2010 following her operatic debut as Mimi in La boheme at English National Opera, Llewellyn has gone from strength to strength on the international stage. She was last at OHP in 2017, as Magda in La rondine. The Welsh bass-baritone Paul Carey Jones makes his OHP debut as Lescaut. His recent career highlights include his Royal Opera House debut in The Nose and the Scottish premiere of Philip Glass's The Trial with Scottish Opera.
Opera Rara And Warner Classics Announce New Partnership

Opera Rara announced an important new partnership with Warner Classics who will assume worldwide distribution for Opera Rara recordings. The agreement includes all future recordings, together with Opera Rara's most recent releases: International Opera Award-winning recordings of Offenbach's Fantasio and Donizetti's Les Martyrs, and selected recordings of the extensive back catalogue of more than 85 recordings.

Ahead of the completion of the Royal Opera House's three year 'Open Up' renovation project, the famous venue has announced a new events programme which goes on sale today. The new additions Ballet Dots, Opera Dots, Books at Brunch and Crafternoons will lift the lid on the artistry of the Royal Opera House and enable everyone - young and old - to feel something new. These newly designed programmes will run alongside free Live at Lunch drop in performances, Recitals at Lunch, Dance with The Royal Ballet and Come and Sing at The Royal Opera House.

Royal Opera House Announces Cast Change for CARMEN

Due to pregnancy, German soprano Anett Fritsch has withdrawn from singing the role of Mica la in Carmen. The role will now be sung by Russian soprano Kristina Mkhitaryan, who will make her Royal Opera debut as Mica la. She has recently sung the role of Mica la for Norwegian National Opera in Oslo.
