SF Sketchfest presented announces additions to the lineup for the 19th annual San Francisco Comedy Festival January 9-26, 2020.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents Broadway and TV stars MEGAN HILTY (Wicked, 'Smash') and CHEYENNE JACKSON (Xanadu, 'American Horror Story') as they join forces for a thrilling and personal evening highlighted by powerhouse Broadway showstoppers, American songbook classics and rare musical gems on Saturday, January 25, 2020, 7:30 pm, in The Wallis' Bram Goldsmith Theater. Although the performance is sold out, wait list requests are being accepted.

Netflix has released the trailer for Lost In Space season two! Lost in Space stars Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Maxwell Jenkins, Mina Sundwall, Taylor Russell, Ignacio Serricchio and Parker Posey.

Theatre NOVA, Ann Arbor's professional theatre with an exclusive focus on new plays and playwrights, presents the world premiere of  a?oeDJ Whittigton's Kool Kat: A Hip-Hop Pantoa?? by Carla Milarch and R. MacKenzie Lewis.

ACT a?' A Contemporary Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director John Langs, officially announces its 55th seasona?'a celebration of five contemporary plays including ACT's 50th Mainstage world premiere. The 2020 mainstage season will open with the Pulitzer Prize-winning Sweat by Lynn Nottage, followed by The Effect, a scintillating, pill-popping love story by Lucy Prebble. Summer 2020 will feature a co-production with the Denver Center for the Performing Arts with the soaring coming-of-age musical-drama Choir Boy by the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Moonlight, Tarell Alvin McCraney. Fall at ACT will feature the world premiere of The Laugh Track by Wendy MacLeod, inspired by the true story of the first female Hollywood writer on the I Love Lucy Show. Closing the season, will be the weirdly wonderful and witty Witch by Jen Silverman, an updated version of The Witch of Edmonton, where the Devil comes to bargain for souls and things go awry when he meets up with the town outcast.

The Woodstock Film Festival today announced the full lineup for its landmark 20th Anniversary, taking place from October 2-6 in the historic Hudson Valley towns of Woodstock, Rhinebeck, Kingston, Saugerties, and Rosendale. Widely acknowledged for showcasing passionate, creative and thought-provoking work by some of today's most promising and accomplished independent filmmakers, this year's festival will showcase more than 50 features from around the world, as well as many short films, and will include panels, live performances, and other special events.

Performance Space New York partners with East Village-based queer funk dance party WET NOISE for a celebratory 12-Hour DANCE-A-THON (May 5, 12pm-12am), a fundraising event that couldn't be further from expectations of what a "fundraising event" entails. The DANCE-A-THON revels in filthy funk music, endless dancing, community building, and inclusivity across age, race, gender, sexuality, and class. DJs tag team in sets as a dynamic give-and-take, throughout the night; they include founding DJ Amber Martin along with Patrick Johnson, Ana Matronic (Scissor Sisters), Seth Kirby (Joshua Light Show), Thomas Campbell, and DatKat (O.E.A.).

Arizona Theatre Company (Sean Daniels, Artistic Director; Billy Russo, Managing Director) has announced that the final two plays for the 2019/20 season are Marco Ramirez' riveting The Royale, inspired by the real-life experiences of Jack Johnson, the first African-American heavyweight world champion, and Wendy MacLeod's riotous comedy, Women in Jeopardy!

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) presents a cure for the winter blues with the laugh-out-loud, world premiere comedy Slow Food by Wendy MacLeod, writer of the acclaimed play Women in Jeopardy and the TV cult sensation "Popular," from January 9 to February 3 at the Nancy L. As announced by John Green via twitter, Hulu is excited to confirm that our leads for Looking for Alaska have been cast. Kristine Froseth and Charlie Plummer have been cast as the leads of Hulu's upcoming 8-episode limited series, 'Looking for Alaska,' based on bestselling John Green novel from Paramount Television and Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage's Fake Empire.

LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron explores the complex relationships women have with their shoes, purses, bras, weight, Madonna, their sisters, and their mothers. Based on the book by Ilene Beckerman, the play opened off-Broadway at the Westside Theater in 2009 after a limited run of staged readings to benefit Dress for Success. It closed The Judson Theatre Company's seventh season last week. The parade of well-known actresses who've performed in LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE reads like a who's who and includes Jane Lynch, Carol Kane, Brooke Shields, Rosie O'Donnell, Tyne Daly, Samantha Bee, Parker Posey, and Kristin Wiig. The Judson Theatre's cast too featured some well-known names, including two-time Emmy Award-winner Sally Struthers, who previously starred in the show at The Geffen Playhouse, Kim Coles, who is best known for her role on 'Living Single,' and stage veteran Joyce Reehling. Rounding out the cast were newcomers Ashley Brooke and Olivia Rose Barresi.

This October, FILM MOVEMENT PLUS, the newly launched SVOD service from pioneering film distributor Film Movement, celebrates the creativity, energy and vision of women directors with WOMEN BEHIND THE CAMERA.
