In its 22nd season, First Folio Theatre (Mayslake Peabody Estate, 31st St. & Rt. 83.) is delighted to present a chilling, humorous and thought-provoking 2017-2018 season.

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional theatre in residence at Oakes Center in Summit, is producing the New Jersey Premiere of Wendy MacLeod's Things Being What They Are. This seriocomedy, written by the Artistic Director of the Kenyon Playwrights Conference, was originally produced at Seattle Rep and then had an extended run at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre. Things Being What They Are runs April 20 - May 7, 2017.

Each year, more than 250 individuals come together to support this unique organization and celebrate iconic leaders from the arts sector. This year, PS122's Spring Gala 2017 at the Diamond Horseshoe honors Alan Cumming, awards a shining star to Ben Rodríguez-Cubeñas and welcomes new Executive Artistic Director, Jenny Schlenzka. 

Subtitled "A Suburban Jacobean Play," MacLeod's shocking The House of Yes is most famous for being a critically acclaimed indie film starring Parker Posey. Custom Made proudly presents a new look at this modern classic. Directed by Stuart Bousel (Grey Gardens, the Musical) and featuring Caitlin Evenson, Shelley Lynn Johnson*, Elliot Lieberman, Juliana Lustenader*, and Casey Robbins. The House of Yes runs March 30 - April 29 at Custom Made Theatre, 533 Sutter Street in San Francisco.

Theatre Nova, Ann Arbor's professional playwrights' theater, now finishing up its second year of operations, is proud to announce additions to its leadership team. Lincoln Center Theater presents Richard Greenberg's new play THE BABYLON LINE this fall in the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65th Street). The production, directed by Terry Kinney, features Maddie Corman, Randy Graff, Julie Halston, Michael Oberholtzer, Josh Radnor, Elizabeth Reaser, and Frank Wood, and begins performances tonight, November 10. Opening night is Monday, December 5.

It is such a pleasure seeing a play that isn't overly preachy. It makes attending the show feel like a TV sitcom from the 50's or 60's where they concentrate on the material and the actors and their performances and the audience is actually being entertained.
