JUMP By Charly Evon Simpson Concludes Its NNPN Rolling World Premiere In Austin

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, announces the final Rolling World Premiere production of Jump by Charly Evon Simpson opening this week. Following productions at PlayMakers Rep, Milagro/Confrontation Theatre, and Actor's Express, Jump by Charly Evon Simpson concludes its Roll with Shrewd Productions (September 13 - 29, 2019).

The Commercial Theater Institute Announces 2019-2020 Season

Tom Viertel, Executive Director of the Commercial Theater Institute (CTI), has announced the 2019 - 2020 season which will include a 14-week in-depth program that explores producing; a three-day intensive introduction to producing; and workshops on specialized topics. CTI is the theater industry's leading training and professional development program and features over 100 of the most distinguished industry professionals as lecturers and panelists including many Tony Award- winning producers.

EQUALLY DIVINE Featured In 10th Annual United Solo Festival

Jenny Lyn Bader will perform her solo play Equally Divine: The Real Story of the Mona Lisa in the 10th Annual United Solo Festival on Thursday, October 24th at 9:00pm. Directed by Julie Kramer, the performance takes place at the Studio Theatre on Theatre Row, at 410 W. 42nd St.

Benjamin Benne Wins Arizona Theatre Company's National Latinx Playwriting Award

Benjamin Benne, a previous finalist for Arizona Theatre Company's (ATC) (Sean Daniels, Artistic Director; Billy Russo, Managing Director) National Latinx Playwriting Award (NLPA), formerly the National Latino Playwriting Award, took top honors this year for Alma, which mines the tension between a mother and her daughter who stands on the precipice of adulthood in today's politically-charged environment.

Dreamcatcher Presents World Premiere of THE LUCKY ONES

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional theatre in residence at Oakes Center in Summit, is kicking off its 25th Anniversary Season with the World Premiere of The Lucky Ones by Lia Romeo. BMI Sets Revenue Records with $1.283 Billion

 BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) ended its fiscal year on June 30 once again breaking revenue records with $1.283 billion, up 7% over the previous year.  BMI also distributed and administered $1.196 billion to its songwriters, composers and publishers, its highest distributions ever, and a 7% or $78 million increase over last year. These results mark the most reported public performance revenues and highest royalty distributions of any music rights organization in the world.

Zoë has performed at Feinstein's/54Below, Le Poisson Rouge, Naked Angels Tuesdays@9, Postmarked Cafe, and opened for Debbie Harry at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, NY. Zoë Van Tieghem in Generation Z plays The Duplex Cabaret Theatre (61 Christopher Street) on September 14th. There is a $15-$20 cover charge and a two beverage minimum.

Photo Flash: First Look at San Francisco Opera's BILLY BUDD

San Francisco Opera presents Benjamin Britten's masterpiece of law and order on the high seas, Billy Budd, in six performances at the War Memorial Opera House September 7–22. Based on the unfinished novella by Herman Melville and set to a libretto by E.M. Forster and Eric Crozier, Billy Budd returns to the Company's repertory after a 15-year absence in the “powerful” (New York Times) staging by Tony Award-winning director Michael Grandage. Lawrence Renes conducts the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and an all-male cast of 75 artists, including 44 men from the San Francisco Opera Chorus prepared by Chorus Director Ian Robertson and 8 boys from the Ragazzi Boys Chorus. The performances coincide with the Melville bicentennial and the 100th anniversary of the posthumous discovery of the American author's unfinished manuscript ofBilly Budd.
