Celebrate the centennial of the Marx Brothers' Broadway debut with THE HERRING BARREL REVUE, an evening of Marx-inspired shenanigans in Times Square. This event is the brainchild of Marx Brothers fanatics NOAH DIAMOND, TRAV SD, and JONNY PORKPIE.

The lineup has been revealed for the 2024 edition of Marxfest, the comedy festival taking place in New York City this May, celebrating the Marx Brothers. The festival kicks off on May 17, and continues through May 26.

Freedonia Marxonia, the annual Marx Brothers festival held on the SUNY Fredonia campus, will once again be held virtually this year. The featured event, live streaming on Friday, October 1, is There's Nothing Like Liberty: The Marx Brothers and America, an 'illustrated lecture' by Noah Diamond.

Every fall, the State University of New York at Fredonia pays homage to the town's near-namesake, Freedonia-the mythical kingdom at the center of the Marx Brothers' 1933 classic Duck Soup. Since 1987, the Freedonia Marxonia festival has become a tradition for Marx Brothers fans.

United Solo Announces 10th-Season Winners and New Festival in London

400 Years in Manhattan, the rollicking 'multimedia monologue' in which New York storyteller Noah Diamond leads the way through four centuries of history, is extending its run in the 2019 United Solo Theatre Festival. After selling out its first two performances, a third has been added, on November 6 at 9:00 pm.

In 400 Years in Manhattan, 'recovering tour guide' Noah Diamond tells the story of the island of Manhattan, accompanied by an expansive multimedia presentation. Diamond, best known for his performance as Groucho Marx in the Off Broadway revival of I'll Say She Is, made his New York debut on a double-decker tour bus. 'That was my day job for years,' he says, 'and I always thought: What I'm really doing here is writing a show.'

United Solo, the world's largest solo theatre festival, is bringing together over 130 shows from all over the world for its tenth anniversary. These shows will offer audiences intimate theatre experiences highlighting the talent, unique perspectives, and storytelling prowess of participating artists. Many promising shows have captured the public's imagination, have sold out their first performances at the Festival, and may now be offered additional performances. Fourteen bestselling shows are now sold out at United Solo. The story of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" has gone through many incarnations over the years: An American fairytale, a Broadway extravaganza, one of the first technicolor MGM movie musicals, and the 1989 West End holiday musical. Now, complete with dancing Munchkins and flying monkeys, Sierra Rep is delighted to present The Wizard of Oz this summer at the Historic Fallon House Theatre in Columbia State Park. The book is by John Kane, music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by E.Y. Harburg. It has additional background music by Herbert Stothart. It is based on the novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum and the 1939 film version written by Noel Langley, Florence Ryerson and Edgar Allan Woolf. This production will be co-directed by Scott Viets and Jerry Lee, who previously teamed up for Holiday Jukebox and The Robber Bridegroom. The production sponsor is DSN Outdoor.
