From hundreds of applications nationwide, 40 finalists from 19 states have been selected to participate in this year's Songbook Academy summer intensive, the leading youth music program focused on the timeless standards of jazz, pop, Broadway and Hollywood.

Miami New Drama announced the return of the world premiere production  A Wonderful World, a new musical based on the life and songs of jazz legend and American icon Louis Armstrong. Originally scheduled for the spring of 2020, the production will now play at the Colony Theatre from December 4 - January 16, with opening night set for December 11.

The 2021 Summer Series runs through September and includes: Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami's Program II: Generations of Genius, Sara Juli's Burnt-Out Wife, Duane Eubanks Quintet, Do It Again featuring the music of Steely Dan, One Night of Queen, Nicole Henry: The Music of Whitney Houston, Adele Myers and Dancers with special guest Sarasota Contemporary Dance Company, and Boney James: SOLID.

A wise man once said that art isn't easy. Well, life isn't either, and since life inspires art, the performers of the small venue circuit of New York City may be leaning into the pandemic for source material, for a while. Or for as long as they need to.

Last night on the Wick stage these celebrated entertainers presented their tribute to Nat King Cole titled “Straighten Up and Fly Right” and it was a masterclass in musical expertise and show biz excitement.
