Marissa Lichwick’s YELLOW DRESS Premieres at FringeNYC, 8/10

After her critically-acclaimed performance at the Hollywood Fringe Festival last year, writer and actress Marissa Lichwick presents her solo piece titled YELLOW DRESS at the 2012 New York International Fringe Festival. Directed by Desdemona Chiang, YELLOW DRESS plays at the Steve & Marie Sgouros Theatre (115 MacDougal Street) from Friday, August 10 to Sunday, August 26, 2012.

YELLOW BRICK WALL Premieres at NY International Fringe Festival 2012, 8/10-26

YBW Productions, in association with Leviathan Lab and 4Hawk Productions, is proud to present the world premiere of YELLOW BRICK WALL: ANGRY WHITE MEN PLAYED BY TWO HAPPY ASIAN GIRLS as part of the 16th annual New York International Fringe Festival. YELLOW BRICK WALL is written and performed by founding members of Leviathan Lab's Asian American Women Writers Workshop Siho Ellsmore (Off-Broadway: JEWTOPIA) and Marisa Marquez (Playwriting: GATED, nominated for five Midtown International Theater Awards; named as one of the Filipino Women's Network 100 Most Influential Filipina in the U.S.), and is directed by Danny Williams (GATED, Nominated for Outstanding Director- Midtown International Theater Festival).

GAY CAMP Opens at HERE, 8/11

Comedic actors Christian Mansfield (Broadway Bares, National Tour of 42nd Street), Ken Urso, and Philip Mutz (also co-author) will open Gay Camp on August 11th to a sold-out audience. Gay Camp is part of this year's New York International Fringe Festival and runs from August 11 - August 22. The production is directed by Arizona-native Phillip Fazio, best known for his regional work in Phoenix, Boston, and L.A.

FringeNYC Kicks Off With THE IMPORTANCE OF DOING ART, 8/10

PinPuppets Productions will kick off the 16th annual New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC) with THE IMPORTANCE OF DOING ART -- the first of 46 shows to premiere on the opening day of FringeNYC.

Vox Theater to Premiere THE RELUCTANT LESBIAN at FringeNYC, 8/10-19

In a theater season dominated by color blind casting controversies, The Reluctant Lesbian, premiering at the 2012 New York International Fringe Festival and produced by Vox Theater, has embraced the challenges that race can create in developing new plays. Performances begin at the Cherry Lane Studio (38 Commerce Street) on Friday, August 10.

Konza Theatre Company Presents FASHIONISTAS: A NARCISSITIC LOVE STORY, Now thru 8/18

The House of Narcissus is gearing up for the fashion show of the season, but life on the runway can be treacherous. An activist plots to destroy the show, the supermodels can't find their shoes, Echo is in love with Narcissus, and Narcissus is consumed by the one thing he can never obtain: himself. In this world of unrequited love, insatiable desire, and fabulous clothes, what is the cost of falling in love with illusion?

Onalea Gilbertson's BLANCHE to be Featured at Fringe Festival, 8/15-25

BLANCHE: The Bittersweet Life of a Wild Prairie Dame, a theatrical rrchestral song cycle written and performed by Onalea Gilbertson, is set to play select performances at the New York International Fringe Festival from August 15 through the 25th.

Actors SAM MUÑOZ and AARON MUÑOZ are taking on twenty different characters in a new one-hour adaptation of the Bard's classic tragedy. 2 HOUSEHOLDS, 2 ASSHOLES: SHAKEPEARE'S R & J premieres at the SOHO PLAYHOUSE as part of the 2012 NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL FRINGE FESTIVAL (FringeNYC) on August 11th.

NYIF Presents GIRLS LIBERATION FRONT, 8/12-8/26

The 16th Annual New York International Fringe Festival in conjunction with Project Girl Performance Collective presents Girl's Liberation Front (GLF) at The Player's Theatre (located 115 MacDougal Street between West 3rd and Bleecker) from August 12th to August 26th. For five captivating performances, GFL redefines what little girls are made of by taking away most of the sugar and adding their own spice.

DANNY VISCONTI IS HILL-BENT Opens at NYC Fringe, 8/11

PIECES Begins Saturday at the Cherry Lane Theatre as Part of NYC Fringe

Revolve Productions presents "PIECES" by Chris Phillips at the 16th New York International Fringe Festival this August. The new play is directed by Brian Zimmer and will be performing at the historic Cherry Lane Theatre in the Village at 38 Commerce Street, NYC.

SIREN'S HEART Opens Off-Broadway on Anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's Death Today, 8/5

Following two successful Off-Off Broadway runs this past year (2011), SIREN'S HEART - Norma Jean & Marilyn in Purgatory ~ Norma Jean Sings Songs Marilyn Never Sang, will begin performances today, August 5th at 2pm at Actors Temple Theatre. The producer, ASCOLS, LLC, have set the opening for 7pm, August 5th (that same night), 50 years to the day, that Marilyn Monroe died.

Underground Arts Presents THE EGG PLAY, 8/7

The Egg Play is coming to Philadelphia before it hits the New York Fringe Festival. A new comic drama by Candice Benge, is a traditional story told in an unconventional way. Benge employs overlapping dialogue, rhythm, counter point, and commedia to tell a story that focuses on the struggles of today's modern age like infidelity, abortion, and fertility; while also questioning how we perceive and therefore remember the world around us.

AILEE AND BETTINA'S (SORT OF) GROWN UP SLEEPOVER Set for FringeNYC, 8/10-26
