The House of Narcissus is gearing up for the fashion show of the season, but life on the runway can be treacherous. An activist plots to destroy the show, the supermodels can't find their shoes, Echo is in love with Narcissus, and Narcissus is consumed by the one thing he can never obtain: himself. In this world of unrequited love, insatiable desire, and fabulous clothes, what is the cost of falling in love with illusion?

The cast for "Fashionistas" includes Actor’s Equity Association Members: McKinley Carter as Donatella, Noah Jordan as Valentino, Sarah Nedwek as Natalie, Dwight Tolar as Rafael, Alix Paige as Solange, Connor Moore as Narcissus, Katie McClellan as Echo, Leah Curney as Calliope. The cast is also includes Andy Schneeflock as Marty, etc, Alex Kaplan as Reflection, Joey Boos as Freddy the stage manager, Eric Brown as the bouncer, and Alex Gaines as Charise.

The design team is made up of: Kathy Voecks, set design; Dana Pinkston, costume design; Robert Perry, lighting design; and Terry Dame, composer and sound designer.

Fashionistas: A Narcissistic Love Story has a running time of an hour. There will be a preview performance August 8 at 7:00pm, opens August 9 at 8:00 p.m. Performances will continue August 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 at 8:00 p.m. and August 18th at 2:00pm at The Theatre on 30th (259 West 30th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues) Tickets ($10-$18) may be purchased online at www.smarttix.com or by calling 212-868-4444.

This high-fashion adaption of the tale of Narcissus and Echo is the vision of playwright Janet Allard. Allard earned her M.F.A. in Playwriting from the Yale School of Drama. She has received two Jerome Fellowships at the Playwrights’ Center. Allard’s work has been seen at The Guthrie Lab, The Kennedy Center, and Yale Rep.

Director, Jennifer Vellenga, earned her MFA from Ohio University and has been an assistant director at Lincoln Center, the Guthrie Theater, the Old Globe Theatre, Dallas Theatre Center, and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park for director Mark Lamos. She directed The Motherline by Chantal Bilodeau at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2009. She is the Head of Acting and Directing at Kansas State University.

Founded by director Jennifer Vellenga in 2011, Konza Theatre Company is a recently formed group of theatre professionals whose mission is to develop new works. The company is funded in part by Kansas State University. This is the first production by the Konza Theatre Company.

This production is an Actors' Equity Approved Showcase being performed at the Theatre at 30th Street through special license and is not associated with Urban Stages.
