(Press Release) YBW Productions, in association with Leviathan Lab and 4Hawk Productions, is proud to present the world premiere of YELLOW BRICK WALL: ANGRY WHITE MEN PLAYED BY TWO HAPPY ASIAN GIRLS as part of the 16th annual New York International Fringe Festival. YELLOW BRICK WALL is written and performed by founding members of Leviathan Lab's Asian American Women Writers Workshop Siho Ellsmore (Off-Broadway: JEWTOPIA) and Marisa Marquez (Playwriting:  GATED, nominated for five Midtown International Theater Awards; named as one of the Filipino Women's Network 100 Most Influential Filipina in the U.S.), and is directed by Danny Williams (GATED, Nominated for Outstanding Director- Midtown International Theater Festival).

Tony Award-winning producer Pun Bandhu calls the show a “hilarious evening that's also a biting social satire.”

YELLOW BRICK WALL follows the adventures of the two Asian female novelists as they navigate their book’s development in Hollywood to be the next blockbuster film.  This coming-of-Asian story is sure to be an Oscar Award-winning hit, but the two anti-exotic-blossoms face exploitation, objectification, and sexism along the way.  The gregarious Ellsmore and Marquez navigate a hilarious, not-so-silk road playing 24 characters, including Rush Limbaugh, Jim Kramer, and Al Pacino in this fast-paced, laugh-a-second, two-woman show.

The production features choreography by Dax Valdes (Off-Broadway: MICROCRISIS, Ma-Yi Theater), lighting & projection design by Calvin Anderson (Perseverance Theatre), and sound design by Ann Warren (Midtown International Theater Festival 2011–Nominated for Outstanding Sound Design).

YBW Productions strives to create fun plays and viral videos from the funny female perspective.  Leviathan Lab is a professional creative studio that invests in the advancement of both emerging and established Asian American performing artists by featuring them in new works by Asian American writers, fresh interpretations of classical plays, and original works for film, television, and the Internet.  4Hawk Productions is a mixed-media company currently developing the documentary film, "The Austin Pendleton Project:Where The Work Is."

YELLOW BRICK WALL: ANGRY WHITE MEN PLAYED BY TWO HAPPY ASIAN GIRLS plays at HERE Arts Center, Dorothy B. Williams Theater (145 Sixth Avenue New York, NY 10013-1548) from August 10 to 26, 2012.
