Valerie McCaffrey's DIRTY BOMB, one of the great but largely untold stories from WWII is an Official Selection at the 14th Annual Hollyshorts Film Festival. at the TCL Chinese Theaters in Hollywood, Friday, August 17th at 2:30PM.  The festival runs August 9 -18. 2018.

Valerie McCaffrey's DIRTY BOMB, one of the great but largely untold stories from WWII, is in competition for Best Short Film at the Madrid International Film Festival.  Ido Samuel, the film's star, is up for Best Actor in a Short Film. The film will screen on Thursday, July 26th, at 7:15PM, at the Novotel Madrid Center, Screening Room 1.

David F. Sandberg (“Annabelle: Creation”) directs New Line Cinema's “Shazam!,” the origin story that stars Zachary Levi (TV's “Chuck”) as the titular DC Super Hero, along with Asher Angel (TV's “Andi Mack”) as Billy Batson, and Mark Strong (the “Kingsman” movies) in the role of Super-Villain Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.  Peter Safran (upcoming “Aquaman,” “The Conjuring” and “Annabelle” films) serves as the film's producer. Skylight Music Theatre today announced members of the creative team and cast for Skylight's holiday show, Hairspray, running November 16 through December 23, 2018. This family-favorite Broadway musical will be presented in the beautiful Cabot Theatre at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway, in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.

The modern holiday classic ELF The Musical returns to The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts as a part of the 10th Anniversary Broadway Series, November 29 - December 2. Tickets are now on sale to members and go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, July 10 at 10 a.m.

Filmmaker James Wan, director of the record-setting horror hits “The Conjuring” and “The Conjuring 2,” explores another dark corner of that universe with “The Nun.”  Directed by Corin Hardy (“The Hallow”), the new fright-fest is produced by Wan and by Peter Safran, who has produced all the films in “The Conjuring” franchise.  

According to Entertainment Weekly, James McAvoy has officially joined the cast of BBC One's His Dark Materials TV series.

Most of Valerie McCaffrey's career has been as a prominent casting director and studio executive both at Universal Studios and New Line Cinema. She has cast over 100 films, including Oscar nominated film AMERICAN HISTORY X and BABE. Recently, she produced a film called LOST AND FOUND IN ARMENIA with Jamie Kennedy and Angela Sarafyan, a cancer documentary CANCER, IT'S IN THE SYSTEM in which she co-directed and co-produced with Cindy Pruitt and produced an award-winning film entitled NEO NED, starring Gabrielle Union and Jeremy Renner.
