Syracuse University Drama Announces 2018/2019 Season

The Syracuse University Department of Drama announced the six plays and musicals that will make up the 2018/2019 season. With an emphasis on contemporary work, the season addresses a variety of current issues and concerns as experienced from intimately personal points of view. The season celebrates stories of consequence, while at the same time investigating and challenging the process, implications and impact of storytelling itself.
MTV Announces Categories & Nominees for the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards

MTV today announced the categories and nominees for the 2018 'MTV Movie & TV Awards,' hosted by Tiffany Haddish, that celebrate the actors, stories and moments that drove pop culture in the last year. The show will once again feature non-gendered categories - a change that marked an industry-first historic shift. Airing on Monday, June 18 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT from the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles, additional categories and honors will be announced at a later date. Barn Theatre Announces Their 72nd Blockbuster Season

The Barn Theatre, Michigan's oldest professional summer theatre, under the artistic leadership of Brendan Ragotzy, announced today the 72nd season of plays and musicals to be presented for the 2018 summer season at the landmark theatre. The Barn structure itself is celebrating 75 years in existence and has housed the Barn Theatre for 72 of them!

National Geographic Announces Mary Shelley As the Subject for Third Season of Scripted Anthology Series GENIUS

On the eve of the premiere of GENIUS: PICASSO on Tuesday April 24, National Geographic announced today that the third season of its acclaimed scripted anthology series will bring to life the myth maker and towering literary figure Mary Shelley. From Fox 21 Television Studios, the new season will again be executive produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard's Imagine Entertainment, MWM Studios and EUE/Sokolow, and will premiere globally on National Geographic in 172 countries and 43 languages in 2019. The first season of GENIUS was watched by more than 45 million people around the world, and was National Geographic's best performing new series launch ever.

Jayne Bieber has been upped to senior vice president, Production Management and Operations at Freeform; it was announced today by Tom Ascheim, president, Freeform, to whom she reports. Bieber oversees ProdCo, the network's in-house production entity responsible for original scripted series such as “The Fosters,” “Beyond,” “Young & Hungry” and the upcoming new original series “Siren.” She also supervises all original unscripted and alternative production, such as “Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings,” short form production, post production, and music.
