Hailed as a dream team of performers, longtime musical collaborators and friends, violinist Joshua Bell, cellist Steven Isserlis and pianist Jeremy Denk, will unite this spring 2019 for their first-ever trio tour stoping at The Soraya on May 8. The three artists will perform hallmarks of the trio repertoire in acclaimed venues across the East and West coasts. Though Bell, Isserlis and Denk have previously released the landmark 2016 recording For the Love of Brahms together on Sony Classical, these performances mark the first occasions in which they will tour live as an ensemble. The Brahms album has been praised as Absolutely essential listening for the classical fan well-crafted, flawless killer stuff.

Season six American Idol finalist and recording artist Melinda Doolittle is set to bring her newest show, Great American Soul Book, to Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood for one performance only on Wednesday, May 8, at 8:30pm, it was announced today by Chris Isaacson Presents.

Manhattan's compellingly innovative contemporary ballet company Neville Dance Theatre takes on legendary composer Terry Riley's 1963 musical masterpiece 'In C' this spring in a bold new work entitled '53 Movements' for their 13th season.

Building on the tradition of Ivan Neville's famed Jazzfest Piano Sessions, Songbook Live will showcase a distinct collection of songs, stories and very special musical guests uniquely curated to embody, and celebrate, Ivan's prolific musical career. New Amsterdam and Nonesuch Records will release composer-performer Daniel Wohl's album Etat on May 31, 2019. The album features electro-acoustic pieces written by Wohl, and includes guest performances by Poliça's Channy Leaneagh with co-production bySon Lux's Ryan Lott and mmph. Etat, recorded with members of yMusic and Calder Quartet, is the third release in a new partnership between the two record labels, established with the goal of enabling contemporary American composers to realize creative ambitions that might not otherwise be achievable.

Hylton Performing Arts Center announced today its 2019-2020 season of mainstage performances, featuring a diverse lineup of artists and ensembles across genres, as part of Hylton Presents, Hylton Family Series, Matinee Idylls, and the American Roots Series. Distinguished pianist Misha Dichter will appear in recital alongside pianist Cipa Dichter, as part of Bargemusic's Masterworks Series, Sunday afternoon, May 19, 2019, at 4 pm. The pair will perform Brahms' Five Hungarian Dances and Dvorák's Complete Slavonic Dances.

Paula and George Wolkind had a dream, realized last year at the baby grand with the first inductees of the Delaware Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. That first show was a rollicking, jitterbugging sellout.

Geva Theatre Center's 46th Season concludes with the world premiere of Revival: The Resurrection of Son House, written and directed by Keith Glover, with music by Son House, Billy Thompson and Keith Glover, musical direction by Billy Thompson and choreography by Norwood Pennewell, in the Elaine P. Pianist Misha Dichter will appear in chamber music program with violinist Mark Peskanov and cellist Julian Schwarz as part of the Bargemusic Masterworks Series, Saturday evening, April 20, 2019, at 6 pm and Sunday afternoon, April 21, 2019, at 4 pm. The program will include Brahms' Piano Trio in B Major, Op. 18 No. 1 and Handel-Halvorsen's Passacaglia for Violin and Cello.

The Stolen Shakespeare Guild presents THE SECRET GARDEN based on the 1911 novel of the same name by Frances Hodgson Burnett with the musical's script and lyrics by Marsha Norman and music by Lucy Simon. Last night, The New Mastersounds returned to the stage during Suwanee Rising for the first of many upcoming live appearances scheduled throughout the US. 2019 marks the band's 20 year anniversary of creating music together, and they alluded to some exciting plans to mark the occasion.

The "United Nations" of music, Silkroad Ensemble celebrates its 20th anniversary with an entirely new multi-media, evening-length work that unpacks the magnitude of being fearlessly human in the face of incompatible obligations.  Heroes Take Their Stands, both the name of the program and an ambitious multimedia commission project, is performed on Sunday, April 28 at 7:00pm at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya).

April is filled with huge names at Blue Note Hawaii, bringing some of entertainment's most recognizable artists to Hawaii's premier live music venue. The month kicks off with the best and brightest of the local music scene, including Henry Kapono's Artist 2 Artist Series featuring Amy Hānaiali'i, singer-songwriter Kimié Miner and Ginai performing the music of Anita Baker, Toni Braxton and Roberta Flack. Music legend George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic  performs for the first and last time in Hawaii in four shows only, followed by Doolin Rakes who share their own brand of lively Irish and Celtic tunes. Andy Bumatai's Comic to Comic Series continues with rising local comedian Tumua Tuinei. Eighties and nineties pop superstar Taylor Dayne will have you dancing, as will Hawaiian Swing Big Band Kahulanui. Next up, singer--songwriter and multi-talented instrumentalist Elijah Sky brings his reggae style to the stage and Hawaii's own Gypsy 808 plays sets inspired by the music of Django Reinhardt and the Quintette du Hot Club de France. Local favorite Kristian Lei performs the best of Broadway for one night only and the incomparable Jake Shimabukuro returns from his world tour to celebrate with us. The month also highlights four shows by movie star Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra,  where he will take your questions, ask you trivia questions and play classic jazz with his band. Gypsy jazz continues with the Hotclub of Hulafrisco, featuring Hawaii favorites Sonny Silva and Duane Padilla alongside some of the world's most respected players in the genre – Paul Mehling, Isabelle Fontaine and special guest Simon Planting. Lastly, an evening with Willie K puts the cherry on top of an incredible month of diverse music and entertainment.
