NBCUniversal's Short Film Festival Names Finalists

The 13th Annual NBCUniversal SHORT FILM FESTIVAL, which celebrates diverse stories while finding the next generation of storytellers, has unveiled six original short films, pilots and webisodes as this year's finalists. They will be recognized at the festival's finale screening and awards ceremony on October 24, 2018 at the Director's Guild of America in Hollywood.
HBO Renews BALLERS and INSECURE

HBO has renewed the comedy series BALLERS for a fifth season and INSECURE for a fourth season, it was announced today by Amy Gravitt, executive vice president, HBO Programming.

On Wednesday, July 19th, the City of Houston became the epicenter of the entertainment world as it played host to an exclusive screening premiere event for HBO's hit shows Ballers and Insecure at White Oak Music Hall, one of Houston's most buzzed about new venues. Talent from each show, London Brown (Reggie) and Jazmyn Simon (Julie Greane) from Ballers, and Amanda Seales (Tiffany) and Natasha Rothwell (Kelli) from Insecure, attended the premiere and conducted interviews with local media outlets in advance of the screenings of the first episodes of each show's new season.

The Story Pirates, a national arts integration education organization, announces its annual The Story Pirates Benefit Shows on Saturday, June 10th 2017 at Crossroads School (1714 21st St. Santa Monica). The two performances will begin at 12:00pm and 3:00pm respectively, and a reception for all attendees will occur from 1:00pm - 3:00pm.
