The New Group has announced four productions for its 2017-2018 Season.

Victory Gardens Theater announces the lineup for the 2017 IGNITION Festival of New Plays, including Tuvalu, or The Saddest Song by Antoinette Nwandu; This Land Was Made by Tori Sampson; Spin Moves by Ken Weitzman; Tell Them I'm Still Young by Julia Doolittle; Wolf Play by Hansol Jung; and Suspension by Kristiana Rae Colon.

Opera Saratoga's Artistic and General Director Lawrence Edelson announced today complete casting for the three exciting new productions that will comprise the company's 2017 Summer Festival, which will build on the company's commitment to producing masterpieces from the operatic cannon, important American works, and works in which dance plays an integral role. In addition, a wide variety of free and ticketed concert events will be presented from May 28th through July 16th at venues throughout the region.

Faith, family and frosting collide in a touching and timely new play by Bekah Brunstetter (NBC's This Is Us). The Echo Theater Company continues its 20th Anniversary Season with the world premiere of The Cake. Jennifer Chambers directs for a July 1 opening at Atwater Village Theatre.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents the world premiere production ofPass Over by Antoinette Nwandu, directed by Danya Taymor. A provocative and hilarious riff on Waiting for Godot, the complete cast features ensemble member Jon Michael Hill (Moses), Julian Parker (Kitch) and Ryan Hallahan (Mister). Pass Over runs June 1 - July 9, 2017 in the Upstairs Theatre, 1650 N Halsted St. Press performances are Saturday, June 10 at 3pm and Tuesday, June 13 at 7:30pm. Tickets ($20-$89) are available through Audience Services at 312-335-1650 or steppenwolf.org. Note: There are a limited number of $30 seats for all performances located in the first front two rows of the theatre with code "CLOSEUP."

Next week on Tuesday, May 23 in New York City, Circus Road will present an invite-only reading of a new play The Plight of the Sage Grouse by Drama Desk winner and Emmy nominee Eugene Pack.

The Playwrights Realm has announced its 2017-18 season productions: the world premieres of Michael Yates Crowley's The Rape of the Sabine Women, By Grace B. Matthias, directed by Tyne Rafaeli (August - September 2017), and Don Nguyen's Hello, From the Children of Planet Earth, directed by Jade King Carroll (February - March 2018).Both will be presented at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project.

Continuing the fight to achieve gender parity in the American Theater, LA-based playwright/producer collective The Kilroys has facilitated its fourth annual List of industry-recommended new plays.

The View UpStairs - the provocative new musical written by Max Vernon, directed by Scott Ebersold and choreographed by Al Blackstone - will celebrate its 100th performance on Friday, May 19 at 8:00 PM. To celebrate this landmark, the show will harness the power of community to benefit Point Foundation, the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer students of merit.

The Tank will present STREEPSHOW!, written by Jay Stull, and directed by Andrew Neisler. Part of The Tank's Save & Print series, STREEPSHOW! begins performances on Friday, June 2 for a limited engagement through Saturday, June 24.

The Gift Theatre, 4802 N. Milwaukee Avenue, presents the world premiere of Claire Kiechel's play Pilgrims, co-directed by Artistic Director Michael Patrick Thornton and guest artist Jessica Thebus, June 2-July 30, 2017. Press opening is on Thursday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Less Than Rent Theatre announced today that f**k MARRY KILL (FMK), a Jacobean revenge comedy set in suburban Connecticut, would perform readings open to industry professionals on May 22nd and 23rd. The play was written by James Presson and will be directed by Sash Bischoff. It was previously developed at the Lincoln Center Lab.

The View UpStairs - the provocative new musical written by Max Vernon, directed by Scott Ebersold and choreographed by Al Blackstone - will partner with Coming Out, a non-profit open-source platform for sharing diverse stories about coming out, for a special event after the performance on Thursday, April 27. Engage with peers, cast and creative members of The View UpStairs, and the Coming Out team as we celebrate the LGBTQ community's vibrant and diverse voices.  

John Guare's Six Degrees of Separation, starring seven-time Emmy Award winner Allison Janney ('Mom,' The Girl on the Train), Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart, 'Manhattan') and Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton, '24: Legacy'), directed by Trip Cullman (Significant Other, Yen), officially opens tonight, April 25, at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). Salty Brine has announced the premiere of a new cabaret, Welcome to the Jungle, as the latest installment in his series, The Living Record Collection.  Welcome to the Jungle, inspired by Harry Nilsson's hit album Nilsson Schmilsson and Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, will perform on May 10, 17, 24, 31 and June 7 at Pangea.
