Porchlight Music Theatre's 25th anniversary season began with the 14th Annual Chicago Sings concert: Chicago Sings 25 Years of Porchlight, Monday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m., at The Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Ave, directed by Christopher Pazdernik and Artistic Director Michael Weber with music direction by David Fiorello and a band featuring Kelsey Boltz, Cara Hartz, John McCreary, Greg Strauss, Celeste Park and Jake Saleh.

The Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA) is pleased to launch the fall season with the 2019 South Florida Cultural Consortium Exhibition. A tribute to loved ones who have gone too soon, 'Memorial' explores the process of mourning. The intimacy of the recording, the sadness in Banhart's quivering vocals, and the beautiful melancholy of the lyrics showcase an artist attempting to understand death.

The Board of Directors of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles announced today the appointment of Anne Ellegood as the museum's next executive director. Ellegood is currently the senior curator at the Hammer Museum. She succeeds Elsa Longhauser, who is stepping down from her position after 19 years of leadership and notably oversaw the museum's transformation from the Santa Monica Museum of Art (SMMoA) into the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (ICA LA). Ellegood will assume her new role on September 16, 2019.
On September 21 and 22, Ivy Baldwin Dance will present Quarry, a site-specific performance work at Manitoga, the former home and 75-acre woodland garden of the late American industrial designer Russel Wright. Quarry takes inspiration from Wright's desire to blur lines between outside and inside, nature and the man-made, and from his deep commitment to experimentation with form and material.
