After an incredibly successful workshop run at Theatre Three's Theater Too in Dallas, playwright Jessica Cavanagh's SELF-INJURIOUS BEHAVIOR is headed for a New York showcase run at Urban Stages. Produced by the Dallas-based team of Cavanagh, actor/director Marianne Galloway, and producer Bren Rapp, the play will run in April during Autism Awareness Month and will feature the original workshop cast under Galloway's direction. Along with the cast of seven, which includes Dallas acting powerhouses Ian Ferguson, Danielle Pickard, Jennifer Kuenzer and Cavanagh, starring as a fictionalized version of herself, the orignal Dallas production and design team including set designer Jeff Schimdt (Artistic Director of Theatre Three) will be involved in transitioning the show from its local workshop phase to its New York showcase. Queens-based Rude Grooms (www.rudegrooms.com) announced details for their production of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, led by actor-manager Montgomery Sutton (Twelfth Night at Shakespeare's Globe; Much Ado About Nothing with Rude Grooms), produced in partnership with Long Island City Artists at the Plaxall Gallery and sponsored by Mikkeller Brewing NYC. The show runs January 4-6 at the Plaxall Gallery (5-25 46th Avenue, LIC) at 7:30pm, with a Twelfth Night Party beginning at 6:30pm each night for VIP ticket holders featuring a variety of musical guests to be announced in the coming days. The play was written by William Rowley, Thomas Dekker, and John Ford and will be led by actor-manager Kate Pitt (The Way of the World at the Folger Theatre, Rude Grooms' Much Ado About Nothing) and associate produced by Emma Montoya Hills (Associate General Manager, HERE Arts Center).
