Montego Glover, Capathia Jenkins & Sy Smith to Join The New York Pops for 'Sophisticated Ladies' Concert

On November 13, 2015 at 8:00PM, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, will continue its 33rd season at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage with Sophisticated Ladies, featuring Montego Glover, Capathia Jenkins, and Sy Smith. The concert commemorates the centennial year of the birth of Billie Holiday and also celebrates other groundbreaking icons of American popular song, from Ella Fitzgerald to Sarah Vaughan to Dinah Washington.

Ghostlight Records just celebrated the physical CD release of the Original Broadway Cast Recording for It Shoulda Been You with a special in-store performance and CD signing at Barnes & Noble last night. The show's director David Hyde Pierce hosted, joined by cast members Sierra Boggess, Lisa Howard, Montego Glover, Chip Zien, Adam Heller, Michael X. Martin, Anne L. Nathan, Nick Spangler and Edward Hibbert.

On October 9, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, opened its 33rd season at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage with My Favorite Things: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein. The concert honored the duo's timeless work, which has captured the hearts of every generation of music lovers, and featured guest artists Sierra Boggess and Julian Ovenden (who replaced the previously announced Steven Pasquale), alongside Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA. LES MISERABLES on Broadway Will Celebrate Show's 30th Anniversary with 'Fan Day' Next Week

Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's LES MISERABLES will celebrate the upcoming 30th Anniversary of the show's original and still going strong London production with a special Fan Day on Broadway on Tuesday, October 6 at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street).   For that one day only, fans can purchase two tickets (select mezzanine seats) for $60.01 at the box-office only.  Fan Day will also include a photo booth in the lobby, special contest offers, and promotional item give-aways.

IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU Cast Will Reunite at Barnes & Noble to Celebrate Album Release

Ghostlight Records released the Original Broadway Cast Recording of IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU - starring Tyne Daly, Harriet Harris, Sierra Boggess and Lisa Howard - in digital formats just last month and with the physical CD online and in stores on Friday, October 9, 2015. To celebrate the release, the company is set to reunite at the Upper East Side Barnes & Noble (150 East 86th Street) on Monday, October 12 (7PM) to perform and sign albums.

Hunter Parrish, Montego Glover & More Set for MasterVoices' PIRATES OF PENZANCE Concert at New York City Center

MasterVoices kicks off the 2015-2016 season with The Pirates of Penzance; or, The Slave of Dutyon October 15-16, 2015 at 8pm at New York City Center, 131 W. 55th Street, New York City. Following the success of our 2012 Mikado at Carnegie Hall, MasterVoices' semi-staged presentation of The Pirates of Penzance will feature a cast of stars from the Broadway and opera worlds, along with Orchestra of St. Luke's performing Arthur Sullivan's original orchestrations under the direction of Artistic Director Ted Sperling. IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU Receives Actors' Equity's Diversity on Broadway Award

Actors' Equity Association today named It Shoulda Been You recipient of the 'Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway' Award for the 2014-15 theatrical season. Presented by Equity's National Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Committee, the award honors shows that exemplify and promote the union's founding principles of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity for all who work in the theatre. Accepting the award on behalf of the It Shoulda Been You producers and creative team was producer Daryl Roth. Also in attendance were cast members Edward Hibbert and Jillian Louis, director David Hyde Pierce, composer Barbara Anselmi, co-lyricist and librettist Brian Hargrove and the production's stage management team: Bess Marie Glorioso, Katherine Shea and Melanie Morgan.

Just last night, Tony Award-nominee Montego Glover and Alex Finke and Alfie Boe joined the company of  Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's Les Miserables on Broadway. Glover succeeds Erika Henningsen as Fantine, while Finke (making her Broadway debut) replaces original cast member Samantha Hill. Boe takes over for Tony Award nominee Ramin Karimloo as Jean Valjean. Sierra Boggess and Steven Pasquale Will Sing Rodgers & Hammerstein with the NY Pops

On October 9, 2015 at 8:00PM, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, will open its 33rd season at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage with My Favorite Things: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein. The concert honors the duo's timeless work, which has captured the hearts of every generation of music lovers, and will feature guest artists Sierra Boggess and Steven Pasquale. The program will feature numbers from all eleven of the collaborations between Rodgers and Hammerstein. Selections will include 'A Wonderful Guy' and 'Some Enchanted Evening' from South Pacific, 'The Sound of Music' from The Sound of Music, and 'Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin' from Oklahoma!.

Submissions Now Being Accepted for 13th Annual New York Musical Theatre Festival

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) is now accepting submissions for new musicals for its 2016 Festival. Also announced was the selection of panelists for the 2016 Grand Jury who will help to choose shows for acceptance into the Next Link Project, NYMF's primary writer-service program.
