Drag artist Varla Jean Merman's new show, WONDER MERMAN, pays tribute to inspirational women throughout history, both real and fictional. The idea that "behind every great man, there's a great woman" feels tone-deaf, at best. But a more arcane expression that may actually hold true is that behind many a great drag queen, there's a great man.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center has announced the return of the legendary Miss Coco Peru for an encore of her latest solo show, The Taming of the Tension. Directed by longtime collaborator Michael Schiralli, Coco will play two performances only at the Renberg Theatre on Saturday, April 28, at 8pm and Sunday, April 29, at 7pm.

Drag icons COCO PERU, CHAD MICHAELS and PEACHES CHRIST will star in the long-awaited New York Premiere of THE WITCHES OF EAST VILLAGE, a theatrical parody based on the iconic film 'The Witches of Eastwick'. This original stage show was written and directed by Joshua Grannell. The Extreme Open Mic that has become a Broadway mainstay was as equally well packed with Hollywood elite, some of which took their turn at the mic. The witty and charming Caruso took charge of the stage, while the musical genius of Billy Stritch brought brilliant music to the ears of patrons and performers alike.

At its annual awards ceremony GLAAD recognized Prop 8: The Musical, a video created for FunnyorDie.com in response to the passage of Proposition 8, a California ballot initiative which eliminated the right to marry for same-sex couples. Directed by Adam Shankman and written by Marc Shaiman, the video received over one million hits on its first day online. During the show, Miss Coco Peru and the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles performed the song live onstage. Shankman accepted the award on behalf of the team of creators.
