The Ivoryton Playhouse's current production of Kander and Ebb's 'Cabaret' does justice to the musical in its own unique way. It is by no means a slavish replica of Sam Mendes's 1998 revision that stressed the decadence to a significantly risqué degree. Nor does it reflect the more conventionality of the 1968 original that still managed to shock audiences with its more subtle but piquant references to the rise of the Nazi party in 1930's Berlin and a huge on-stage mirror that placed the audience as observers and participants in the fall of the German culture.

After performing for two years at the Betty Ford Clinic, Millie Grams brings her crowd-pleasing show back to Don't Tell Mama on June 25th (7pm). Millie is ready to tickle her funny bone with parodies of Cole Porter, Jerry Herman, Elton John, Leslie Gore, Kander and Ebb, Andrew Lloyd Weber and Abba, all seamlessly tied together with heartfelt tales of her life as a hustling showgirl. PIPPIN's Charlotte d'Amboise and Terrance Mann are set to host 'Broadway's Best in Drag' with Robert La Fosse to benefit AIDS Service Center NYC. 'Broadway's Best in Drag' will take place on Monday, June 9th at The Abrons Art Center (446 Grand Street) with open bar and raffle prizes.

From the writing team that brought you last year's smash FAT ASSES: THE MUSICAL comes the revamped musical/comedy sensation PARKER & DIZZY'S FABULOUS JOURNEY TO THE END OF THE RAINBOW. After a successful run at the New York International Fringe Festival and Encores Series in 2011, this hilariously campy, sci-fi-action-adventure is described as a saucy foursome between The Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, Thelma & Louise and a 'gay' Da Vinci Code...but instead of revolving around Jesus, it's JUDY!

The sparkles will be flying this spring as the Metropolitan Room hosts its first 'New York's Next Top Drag Queen Contest.' The six-week affair, running five Mondays through May 6 (no show on April 8), will pit eight pre-selected drag queen artists who will be judged not by looks alone but by how well they sing and entertain.
