BEETLEJUICE Will Release a Cast Recording Later This Year

Beetlejuice, the new Broadway musical comedy, will record a cast album to be released later this year. The show officially opened at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway) on Thursday, April 25. The album - produced by Matt Stine, Alex Timbers, Eddie Perfect, and Kurt Deutsch - will be recorded May 5, 6 and 13.

As Porchlight Music Theatre is set to launch its 25th Anniversary Season as Chicago's center for music theatre, it celebrated 24 years and announced its 25th Anniversary co-chairs at the 2019 ICONS Gala Sunday, March 31 at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago, 160 E. Pearson. The 2019 ICONS GALA set a new attendance record with 300 guests in attendance and raised more funds that directly benefit Porchlight's artistic and educational programs than previous events. The elegant Gala Brunch, chaired by Tamara Sims, included performances from Chicago's leading talents celebrating the legendary career of Jerome Robbins, the presentation of The Luminary Award to Jean Klingenstein, introduced the 25th Anniversary chairs: RIck and Deann Bayless and Bill Kurtis and Donna La Pietra and silent and live auctions.

Porchlight Closes 'Lost' Musicals Series with MINNIE'S BOYS

Porchlight Music Theatre's final production in its 2018 - 2019 'lost' musicals in staged concert series is Porchlight Revisits Minnie's Boys,  with book by Groucho Marx's son Arthur Marx and Robert Fisher, music by Larry Grossman and lyrics by Hal Hackady with direction and choreography by Christopher Pazdernik and musical direction by Christie Chiles Twille.  Porchlight Revisits Minnie's Boys is presented for three performances Wednesday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, March 23 at 2 p.m. and  7:30 p.m. at The Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn Street.

Rush Street, on International Women's Day, Friday, March 8 celebrating women in theatre and announced the launch of The Rachel Rockwell Memorial Fund supporting fierce women behind the table at Porchlight Music Theatre and the 2019 honorees  of the Fund: Denise Karczewski, Shanna Vanderwerker and Christie Chiles Twillie.

BEETLEJUICE Will Offer $33.33 Preview Tickets To First 100 Patrons in Black and White Tomorrow

Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures (Mark Kaufman) and Langley Park Productions (Kevin McCormick) announced that The Winter Garden Theater Box Office (1634 Broadway) will open for ticket sales for the new Broadway musical comedy BEETLEJUICE on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at 10am. The first 100 patrons to show up at the Winter Garden Theatre box office dressed in BEETLEJUICE black and white (BEETLEJUICE prefers stripes) can purchase 2 specially priced weekday orchestra preview tickets for $33.33 each (In honor of the 30th Anniversary of Tim Burton's film - say it 3 times!).

Geva's Presents Its Second World Premiere Of 2019 - Lila Rose Kaplan's THE MAGICIAN'S DAUGHTER

Geva Theatre Center's 2018-2019 Fielding Studio Series continues with the world premiere of The Magician's Daughter, written by Lila Rose Kaplan and directed by Shelley Butler. This production marks the second world premiere of the season, following hot on the heels of the world premiere of Brent Askari's Hard Cell - also premiering in January. The Magician's Daughter begins performances on January 24 and runs in the Fielding Stage through February 10.

Actor and Magician Ricky Jay Dies at 72

According to Variety, actor and magician Ricky Jay has died at age 72. His manager, Winston Simone, confirmed that he died of natural causes.
