AMADEUS A tour de force. Michael Sheen is sublime. As part of the Sydney Opera Houses’ 50th anniversary program, AMADEUS by Peter Schaffer is Co-presented and produced by leading Sydney-based independent theatre presenter Red Line Productions.

From 27 December, 2022 – 21 January, 2023 a gripping new production of Peter Shaffer's Tony and Academy Award-winning masterpiece Amadeus will be staged in the Opera House's newly transformed Concert Hall.

Acclaimed Welsh actor and producer Michael Sheen (The Twilight Saga, Frost/Nixon, The Queen, Tron: Legacy, Masters of Sex, Good Omens, Amadeus) will star as Salieri in a gripping new production of Peter Shaffer’s Tony and Academy Award®-winning masterpiece Amadeus at the Sydney Opera House from 27 December, 2022 – 21 January, 2023.

Presented with honesty and openness and a liberal dose of humour, Priscilla Jackman's new play STILL POINT TURNING: THE CATHERINE MCGREGOR STORY shares the intriguing story of the famous Australian transgender woman's life and journey to finding who she truly is. 

Still Point Turning: The Catherine McGregor Story opens at Wharf 1 Theatre this April. Directed by Priscilla Jackman in her Sydney Theatre Company debut, Heather Mitchell will play Catherine in this vivid theatrical portrayal of one of Australia's most intriguing public figures, with a cast which also includes Nicholas Brown as Rahul Dravid, Andrew Guy as Young Malcolm, Chantelle Jamieson as Dr Amar, Ashley Lyons as Malcolm and Georgina Symes as Ayla Holdom.  

Joanna Murray-Smith's acclaimed two-hander, Switzerland, comes to MTC with the stunning original cast of Sarah Peirse and Eamon Farren. Under the direction of newly appointed MTC Associate Director Sarah Goodes, this Sydney Theatre Company production opens at Southbank Theatre, the Sumner on Wednesday 21 September.

Tom Stoppard's ARCADIA, widely regarded as one of the 20th century's greatest plays, is a ravishing comedy, a literary sleuth story, a touching period romance and a scientific exposition all rolled into one. For Sydney Theatre Company's new production, director Richard Cottrell collaborates again with ARMS AND THE MAN set designer Michael Scott-Mitchell, costume designer Julie Lynch, and lighting designer Damien Cooper. Performances are at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House, from 8 February to 2 April 2016.
