'Indecent,' by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel, opened on June 9 at Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre. Directed by Rebecca Taichman in a co-production with Huntington Theatre Company, the Tony Award-nominated 'Indecent' will run through July 7, 2019.

Center Theatre Group Associate Artistic Director Diane Rodriguez announced that she will leave the organization on June 30, 2019, after 24 years on the artistic staff at the leading nonprofit theatre organization. Rodriguez has overseen new play production at Center Theatre Group since 2005, commissioning, developing and producing the new work of over 75 artists and was director of a significant 10-year-long Andrew W. Mellon Foundation project devoted to collaborative new works.

Center Theatre Group Artistic Director Michael Ritchie has set the 2019 - 2020 seasons at both the Mark Taper Forum and Kirk Douglas Theatre. TheatreWorks Silicon Valley presents the Northern California premiere of Archduke. Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph, Archduke explores how one man, one moment, can derail an entire century. Focusing on the cataclysmic 1914 assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo, three hapless insurgents embark on a darkly comic quest for immortality and purpose, unaware that their actions will launch World War I.

Casting is set for Antaeus Theatre Company's production of "Native Son," which Center Theatre Group is remounting at the Kirk Douglas Theatre as part of the third annual Block Party: Celebrating Los Angeles Theatre. Written by Nambi E. Kelley, based on the novel by Richard Wright and directed by Andi Chapman, "Native Son" will begin previews April 18, open April 20 and continue through April 28, 2019.

Skylight Theatre Company's production of 'Rotterdam,' opened this weekend at Center Theatre Group at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. Written by Jon Brittain and directed by Michael A. Shepperd, 'Rotterdam' will close April 7.

One of the hearts of theatre in LA, Center Theatre Group has announced its 53rd season at the Ahmanson Theatre featuring seven shows from all across the theatrical spectrum including musicals, one-person plays, the return of an iconic dance theatre piece plus one production to be announced at a later date.

The 29th Annual LA STAGE Alliance Ovation Awards, celebrating theatrical excellence and achievement throughout Los Angeles, were presented on Monday, January 28, at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown LA.

Since 1996, Center Theatre Group has recognized and celebrated local theatre artists with the Richard E. Sherwood Award. In 2018 Dorothy Sherwood, Richard's wife and fellow champion of innovative and adventurous theatre artists passed away. To honor the passion and dedication of both patrons of the arts, the award has been renamed the Dorothy and Richard E. Sherwood Award.

Tonight Center Theatre Group opens Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of Linda Vista written by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning ensemble member Tracy Letts, directed by Dexter Bullard, who also directed the world premiere at Steppenwolf. The production features Steppenwolf ensemble members Ian Barford, Tim Hopper, Sally Murphy and Caroline Neff with Chantal Thuy, Cora Vander Broek and Troy West.
