This talented ensemble cast is the reason to see this production of Rajiv Joseph's Obie Award-winning play.

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) will open Season 38 with Describe the Night, Rajiv Joseph’s epic and timely play exploring the fraught relationship between observation and truth, storytelling and history, and the shaping of reality.

Providence's Trinity Rep has come roaring back from a two-year pandemic hiatus with a stunning production of August Wilson's 'Gem of the Ocean.' Compelling performances from a cast that includes some of Rhode Island's finest actors at the top of their form make this the must-see theatrical event of the season.

Trinity Repertory Company's next production in the 2021-22 Season is August Wilson's Gem of the Ocean, the first play chronologically in the iconic playwright's American Century Cycle. Directed by resident company member Jude Sandy, Gem of the Ocean features a multigenerational cast of local artists.

What director Jude Sandy has come up with in this amazing production of August Wilson's RADIO GOLF is a play that is both wildly entertaining and yet manages to grapple with the most serious conflicts of our time. RADIO GOLF is both powerful and hilarious, often at the same time. It's running time is over two hours and forty-five minutes, but, trust me, you'll never glance at your watch.

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) stages Assassins, Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's revue-style musical examining the motives of notorious Americans who take aim at the president of the United States-and what they believe is their best shot at the American Dream.

Trinity Rep continues its 2019-20 Season with the final play from American theatrical legend August Wilson - Radio Golf. Directed by resident acting company member Jude Sandy, the show features resident acting company member Joe Wilson, Jr., as Harmond Wilks, a man determined to revive his childhood neighborhood without considering the emotional cost. Both moving and funny, Radio Golf is the culmination of August Wilson's ten-play American Century Cycle chronicling each decade of African-American life in the twentieth century. Nowadays, it seems that everything old is constantly being rebooted, updated, adapted, reimagined, etc. etc., so on and so forth. Any time something is re-imagined or adapted into something else, such as the many new Broadway musicals based on Hollywood movies, it can be a risky proposition. In the case of The Gamm Theatre's live radio play version of the classic movie It's a Wonderful Life, the adaptation is pulled off perfectly, honoring and respecting the source material while doing it in a creative, imaginative and immensely entertaining way.

Dead Man Walking, the powerful opera by composer Jake Heggie and librettist-playwright Terrence McNally, will have its long-awaited Lyric premiere this month. Directed by Curt Columbus, who was most recently at the helm of last spring's Ragtime, this contemporary telling of the famously-cursed play will include a live DJ and elements of magic.

Trinity Rep's annual A CHRISTMAS CAROL production is always delightful in new and exciting ways. This year, they've partnered with 56 choirs from Rhode Island (and a few from Massachusetts) to make each show unique and feature even more local talent. This is a lovely addition to the classic story, and another way that Trinity manages to give this play something new year after year. Set in a classic Victorian backdrop, this year's production features lots of singing and dancing, and some pretty fantastic effects and performances.

Trinity Rep is proud to present its annual holiday tradition, A Christmas Carol. Noted for being a new production each year, the 2018 production has been inspired by a traditional telling of the famed Dickens classic.  This year the production will be directed Mark Valdez, who directed Fuente Ovejuna, or Like Sheep to Water at Trinity Rep in 2017.

The 2017 staging of Trinity Repertory Company's A CHRISTMAS CAROL fairly effervesces with the joys of the season. Under the savvy co-direction of Angela Brazil and Stephen Thorne, the cast and artistic team involved with the ruby anniversary CAROL deliver a vibrant and refreshing production that brims with great energy and good cheer.

Trinity Repertory Company is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its holiday production, A Christmas Carol, this year.

Like Sheep to Water, or Fuente Ovejuna, by Lope de Vega,  was written in the early 1600s, but has been largely unproduced in the United States.  Similar to a Shakespearean history, it's based on actual events that occurred in the Castilian region of Spain in 1476.  This production was translated and adapted by Trinity Rep Artistic Director Curt Columbus, and manages to stir up plenty of emotion while injecting much-needed moments of comic relief.  While the production, costumes and performances are excellent as they always are at Trinity Rep, the play itself is somewhat underwhelming despite containing classic themes of romance and triumph over oppression.
