BroadwayWorld was deeply saddened this morning to report the passing of the legendary Carol Channing. The Broadway community took to social media to share memories and condolences.

Singer and actor, Chris Mann, will be performing at Feinstein's / 54 Below in NYC, where he will sing tribute to one of his idols, Tony Bennett! The show, Bennett--From Gershwin to Gaga: An Evening with Chris Mann and the Tony Bennett Songbook will take place on Wednesday, January 15th at 9:30PM.

He penned 80's anthems, she kissed Hugh Jackman, he co-wrote the musical, Pretty Woman, she sang with Brian May. He has written favorites such as 'Summer of '69,' 'Heaven,' and 'What About Love' and she is going to sing the heck out of them. Every song has a story. Singer/Songwriter Catherine Porter (Brian May Band, Sunset Boulevard, Next to Normal) and Songwriter Jim Vallance (Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, Heart) come together for one night only. Today, Broadway Records /1650 Records /LOML Records released 'The Right of Way' from Tony-nominated singer Mary Bridget Davies. This is the first track from Stay With Me:  The Reimagined Songs of Jerry Ragovoy, to be released in January 2020. Written by the renowned songwriter, this is the first time the track has been recorded and released. 'The Right of Way' showcases Davies' powerful vocals, honed over many years as Janis Joplin in Love Janis and A Night With Janis Joplin.

Christmas Jukebox, the new holiday EP from Chris Mann, is anything but traditional.  Mann creates a genre bending exploration bringing fun and funk into the holidays.  From electronic dance takes on classics like “Up On The Housetop” to street vibing and retro pop originals “Happy Holidays” and “Christmas Love,' Mann's Christmas Jukebox will raise your holiday spirits while you raise your glass.

Spend an evening with The Phantom of The Opera at The Wick Theatre Celebrate the iconic production and the best of Broadway as Chris Mann is joined by Krista Buccellato, Adam Machart and a live band for this exciting concert event, Phantom Voices. Dates are October 12 at 8pm and October 13 at 2pm.

Musical Theatre Guild, the winner of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in the theatre, will open their 24th Anniversary season with BARNUM, the Tony Award-winning musical by Cy Coleman, Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble. The one-night-only concert will take place at Glendale's historic Alex Theatre on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 7:00 PM.

Chris Mann took the Feinstein's at Vitello's stage last Friday night and OWNED it! Within minutes of hitting the Feinstein's at Vitello's stage, Chris dropped the 'f-bomb' with a mischievous twinkle in his eye - and the audience knew we were in for a fun and raucous night! Chris' easy stage demeanor peppered with clever asides, created a relaxed, back-and-forth dialogue with the appreciative audience. No canned patter here!

Earlier this year, on April 22, The Phantom of the Opera, reached a milestone that no other Broadway show has even come near. Phantom, the longest-running show in Broadway history, became the first Broadway show EVER to reach #13,000 performances. This is just one of many incredible achievements made by the show since it opened on Broadway over three decades ago.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the legendary theatrical producer and director Hal Prince has passed away at the age of 91. Prince, whose career spanned over seven decades, impacted the Broadway musical as we know it today, and members of the theatre community took to social media to mourn the loss and speak on the impact of the legend. Sonoran Desert Chorale announces its 201920 Season under the leadership of its new Artistic Director, Dr. Carric Smolnik. Performances will be held in Mesa and Scottsdale, with season tickets on sale now for all 4 concerts. Season tickets are $60 for adults and $50 for seniorsstudents.  Advance purchase tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for seniorsstudents.  Tickets at the door are $20 for adults and $18 for seniorsstudents.  

To begin its 26th Season, the Sonoran Desert Chorale is announcing the appointment of new Artistic Director, Dr. Carric Smolnik. With the retirement of Founding Director Jeff Harris at the end of the Chorale's 25th Season, an extensive search was conducted to find a new director and Dr. Smolnik was selected from a field of more than 20 candidates. 

Pacific Festival Ballet of Thousand Oaks will be premiering its new ballet version of Camelot, the original 'Game of Thrones' in two performances on May 18 at the Fred Kavli Theatre in the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Directed and choreographed by Kim Maselli and featuring new music by Eric Allaman.

Musical Theatre Guild, the winner of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in the theatre, has announced an exciting quartet of shows for their 24th season of Broadway in Concert musicals. The MTG 2019-2020 season includes: BARNUM, THE GOODBYE GIRL, IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU and KISMET.

The buzzed-about duet debuts May 31th and is the third single off Mann's new LP, NOISE!  The combined voices blend and soar with cascading harmonies and stratospheric melodies co-written by Mann, Tiffany Vartanyan (Demi Lovato), Rune Westberg (Colbie Caillat), and Deanna Walker (Brandy Clark).

Barnum will be closing out Southgate Community Players Main Stage productions for the 2018-2019 season. Opening this weekend on Friday, May 3rd, this spectacular spectacle brings to life the story of P. T. Barnum the stage at the Davidson Auditorium inside Davidson Middle School in Southgate. Beloved characters based on the real-life performers that Barnum worked with during his career are woven throughout this high-energy musical. SCP's production of Barnum is packed with skills and tricks that will awe audiences of all ages! BroadwayWorld Detroit had a chance to speak with Tamara Laflin, the show's triple threat: director, music director, and choreographer, and she said, 'audiences should come see Barnum because it's a fresh take on a musical theatre classic.'
