Williamstown Theatre Festival announces the start of their 2017 Season with performances of their first two shows tonight, June 27, and tomorrow, June 28. First up on the Main Stage is Jen Silverman's new play The Roommate (June 27 -July 16). Mike Donahue directs Golden Globe and Emmy award winner S. Epatha Merkerson and Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee Jane Kaczmarek in this absorbing comedy that celebrates unexpected re-invention later in life.

Waterwell is presenting a new dual language (English/Farsi) version of Hamlet at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture (18 Bleecker Street). Starring Tony Award nominees Arian Moayed as Hamlet, Sherie Rene Scott as Gertrude, and Micah Stock as Horatio, with direction by Drama Desk nominee Tom Ridgely, Hamlet is currently in previews for a May 21st opening. The 52nd Street Project makes a difference in the lives of countless Hell's Kitchen (Clinton) kids by pairing them with theater professionals who mentor them through the creation of original theater. Perhaps the most poignant presentations made by the Project are those in its semi-annual Playmaking series, which features the Project's youngest Hell's Kitchen menses - 9- and 10-year-olds who have just begun their theatrical education - writing for accomplished professional actors and revealing their work to a public audience for the first time.
