A new series of professionally shot web videos promoting Chicago's neighborhood theater scene is debuting online today, the work of a new non-profit named Friends of Chicago's Neighborhood Theatres. The group's plan is to release one You Tube video every two to three months as part of a new viral marketing campaign promoting Chicago theater titled 'A City of Stories.'
Meshach Taylor Passes Away at 67

Emmy Award-winning actor Meshach Taylor passed away late last night, June 28. His agent, Dede Binder, said the cause was colorectal cancer. His son told the LA Times that Taylor was in hospice care at his family's home and surrounded by loved ones when he died at 10:47 p.m.

Playwright Jamie Morris ('Mommie Queerest,' 'The Facts of Life: The Lost Episode,' and 'The Silence of the Clams') ' is at it again with his latest comedy parody. This time around he spoofs another popular 1980s sitcom, sending up the gals of the Sugarbaker Design Firm in Atlanta. The West Coast Premiere of 'Re-Designing Women' opens May 29 for a three-week run at the Diversionary Theater.

As part of its growing aggressive program strategy, TV One will add the half-hour sitcom Family Time to its Friday night classic comedy block it was announced today by Maureen Guthman, SVP Programming Strategy and Acquisitions. The half-hour comedy created by Bentley Kyle Evans (The Jamie Foxx Show, Martin, Love That Girl) and produced by Evans and partner Trenten Gumbs, will premiere Friday, January 25 at 9:00 PM/ET with two episodes back to back and then settle into its regularly scheduled time slot of Fridays at 7:30PM/ET beginning February 1.
