Sony Pictures TV to Reboot DESIGNING WOMEN

Sony Pictures TV is in the works to revive the classic 1990s sitcom Designing Women, according to Deadline. The series' original creator Linda Bloodworth-Thomason heading the reboot.

The original series ran from September 29, 1986, until May 24, 1993. Designing Women centers on the lives of four women and one man working together at an Atlanta interior design firm. The series starred Dixie Carter, Annie Potts, Jean Smart, Delta Burke, Meshach Taylor, Alice Ghostley, Julia Duffy, Jan Hooks and Judith Ivey.

Sony Pictures TV is the studio behing other revivals, such as One Day at a Time, which is on Netflix, and The Facts of Life, which is in its early stages.

Sony was also in the works of rebooting Mad About You, but original star Paul Reiser recently said it was looking unlikely to happen.
