The video for “La La Land” – Bryce Vine's follow-up to the Platinum- certified hit “Drew Barrymore” can be viewed below! Directed by James Larese (Eminem, Bishop Briggs), it features Vine alongside multi-Platinum, Compton-based rapper YG, actress/model Melanie Iglesias (“Guy Code,” “Girl Code”) and one of the rehabilitated pups from the charitable organization Road Dogs & Rescue. With a satiric edge and a tip of the hat to classic filmmakers like Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino, the bold, vibrant video unfolds across a series of what appear to be quintessential L.A. locations – but the line between real and artificial quickly blurs in the town Vine calls home.

The final show of Cygnet's sixteenth season brings fun, whimsy and modern-day humor to a beloved classic by Jane Austen. Pride and Prejudice runs May 15 through June 16, 2019. Opening Night for media is Saturday, May 18 at 8:00PM. The outspoken Elizabeth Bennet faces mounting pressure from her status-conscious mother to secure a suitable marriage. But is marriage suitable for a woman of Elizabeth's intelligence and independence? Especially when the irritating, aloof, self-involved tall, vaguely handsome, mildly amusing, and impossibly aristocratic Mr. Darcy keeps popping up at every turn. Literature's greatest tale of latent love has never felt so theatrical or so full of life as it does in this effervescent new adaptation. Hamill's Pride and Prejudice garnered Best Theatre of 2017 from Huffington Post and was a Wall Street Journal Critic's Pick.

Since the joint production between the 5th Avenue Theatre and ACT of "Urinetown" was announced I heard far too often from people that they wouldn't want to see that. A stupid musical about pee? "I don't care for shows that are all bathroom humor," I would hear. And I'd have to defend this wonderful show explaining that it's a super funny, well written show, yes with peeing as the basic setting, but that it was so much more as it pokes fun at government corruption and is an homage to famous musicals who came before. I guess Little Sally from "Urinetown" was right that nothing can kill a show faster than bad subject matter or a bad title. But then her stating that is why this self-referential, meta show works so well. It knows it's ridiculous and it embraces it. And the same could be said for this wonderful production that went for every bad joke with brilliant comic timing and then some.
