Review: THE BEEKEEPER OF ALEPPO, Theatre Royal Brighton

Heartbreaking, thought-provoking and beautifully staged, The Beekeeper of Aleppo is one of those productions that stays with you. More than anything, it reminds us that behind every headline about refugees is a human story. For that reason alone, it feels like a play that everyone should see.

Review: THE BEEKEEPER OF ALEPPO, Richmond Theatre

Christy Lefteri’s 2019 bestseller The Beekeeper of Aleppo is both a powerful and poetic story about the refugee experience. So why does this important and emotional story feel flat on stage?

In a time and age where it seems that our dichotomous natures are at the core of all interaction, there is one thing that remains true: we are all human, faced with difficult choices and sometimes, we make the wrong choices.

Review: THE KITE RUNNER Presented By Broadway In Chicago

Fans of the novel may be enthralled at seeing the characters and events of THE KITE RUNNER brought to life before their eyes, largely through moving performances and clever stagecraft. But this dramatization feels unsatisfying, an adaptation that ultimately fails to convince audiences that it is necessary much less an improvement on the original.
