The Drama Book Shop will host a reading, discussion and signing for Tony Award-winning set designer Beowulf Boritt’s new book, Transforming Space Over Time: Set Design and Visual Storytelling with Broadway’s Legendary Directors on Tuesday, October 11 at 7:00pm.

Wasatch Theatre Company kicks off its 25th season with THE LARAMIE PROJECT, chronicling the assault and murder of Matthew Shepard in 1998.  The Tectonic Theatre Project visited the town of Laramie where the murder took place to interview townsfolk immediately after the incident in 1998.

The music video was filmed on the Field Of Dreams baseball field in Dyersville, Iowa and is a reflection on Paisley's experience growing up queer and closeted in rural America, the fall-out after the murder of Matthew Shepard in 1998, and realizing he needed to get out. 'Iowa' is the third and final single from Fields' new album, Limp Wrist.

Viewers who remember and were affected by THE LARAMIE PROJECT will see parallels in HERE THERE ARE BLUEBERRIES, a beautiful and no-less-significant new play written by Kaufman and Amanda Gronich, co-produced by the Tectonic Theater Project and directed by Kaufman at the La Jolla Playhouse.

The Long Beach Camerata Singers have announced the formation of The Catalyst Ensemble, an all professional chamber choir. The group will be conducted by Dr. James K. Bass, a Grammy Award winner, and the members of the ensemble will be recruited from the Southern California vocal community, as well as the greater Southwest states.

The Long Beach Camerata Singers will return to the stage for the 2022-2023 season, with a schedule of 5 self-produced concerts plus 2 engagements with the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra. The Long Beach Camerata Singers will also debut its new professional chamber group; The Catalyst Ensemble. Both ensembles will be led by Grammy-award winning Artistic Director, Dr. James K. Bass.

In October 1998, a twenty-one-year-old student at the University of Wyoming was kidnapped, severely beaten, and left tied to a fence in the middle of the prairie outside Laramie, Wyoming. His name was Matthew Shepard, and he was the victim of this assault because he was gay. Moises Kaufman and fellow members of the Tectonic Theater Project made six trips to Laramie, interviewing more than 200 citizens in the aftermath of Matthew's murder. The Laramie Project is a breathtaking collage that explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights of compassion of which we are capable.
