Throughout February, dancers are invited to participate in special workshops and weekly classes that will expose them to the rich history of dances born from different Black communities in the USA, Caribbean, South America, and the continent of Africa.

Dallas Black Dance Theatre is producing dramatic lessons on two historic periods: the reconstruction period following the Civil War and the Civil Rights Era. Music plays a vital role in both dances: ODETTA by Matthew Rushing and The Mourner's Bench by Talley Beatty.

Dallas  Black Dance Theatre  (DBDT) is completing its 44th season with all virtual performances. In January 2021, the company will continue to capture the dance and choreography on video in natural outdoor environments across Dallas in many instances.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's monumental first-ever Ailey Forward virtual season, celebrating 60 years of the seminal work, Revelations, culminates with a Revelations Through the Decades program from December 23 to 31.

This month's Ailey Forward virtual season celebrating six decades of Revelations breaks new ground in week three by presenting Ailey's renowned dancers in two world premieres and an interactive family program.  With nine special programs each available free for one week, the reimagined holiday engagement has been called “A Virtual Gift of Joy” by The New York Times.

The Music Center and KCET have announced an expansion of their broadcast partnership with the upcoming airing of the 32nd annual Music Center Spotlight Virtual Grand Finale on KCET as part of its weekly arts and culture series, SOUTHLAND SESSIONS on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at 8:00 p.m., and on PBS SoCal on Sat, Septembe.r 19, 2020, at 7 p.m.
