BWW Interviews: ERICH BERGEN Talks New CD and 'VENICE' Musical

Former JERSEY BOYS star Erich Bergen is certainly one busy guy. In support of his first soon-to-be released solo CD The Vegas Sessions, Bergen will be debuting his new club act at The Magic Castle in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, September 15. On top of that, he is currently in rehearsals for the new musical VENICE, which is set to open October 7 at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. Recently, Bergen chatted with BroadwayWorld's Michael Lawrence Quintos about the new album, his days on JERSEY BOYS, New York vs. L.A. theater, and the whereabouts of his Gossip Girl ascot.

Erich Bergen LA Concert Held 9/15; Previously Announced SF Show Postponed

In celebration of his first solo CD release, former Jersey Boys star Erich Bergen will debut his new club act at The Magic Castle in Los Angeles on Wednesday, September 15 at 8pm, and following that performance, he will be appearing at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City as part of the cast of Venice from October 7 through November 14.

Kirk Douglas Theatre to Present CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN et al. '10-'11

Los Angeles's Kirk Douglas Theatre, a member of the Center Theatre Group, has announced several production for its 2010-2011 season, Variety reports. The productions will include Eric Rosen's and Matt Sax's VENICE, THIS, and Martin McDonagh's THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN.

The Vagabond Theatre Ensemble presents Hangman School for Girls in association with Fullstop Collective. The show will feature Nick Afka, Louiza Collins, Lucy Gillespie, Sarah Ann Masse, Lillian Meredith, and Briel Pomerantz. The production will play at Manhattan Theatre Source (177 MacDougal Street), March 10-27, Thursday through Saturday at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm with additional performances on Monday, March 22 at 8pm and Saturday, March 27 at 2pm. Lincoln Center Unveils Plans for New Theatre, Rehearsal Space Atop Vivian Beaumont

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced plans to expand its operations to the roof of the Vivian Beaumont Theater. Construction will begin this spring on a 23,000 square foot, two-story addition which is designed by noted architect Hugh Hardy of H3 Hardy Collaboration Architecture. Budgeted at $41 million, it will house a 131-seat theater and dressing rooms, as well as much needed rehearsal and office space for the LCT staff and an outdoor terrace surrounded by a green roof. The theater will be named the Claire Tow Theater, in honor of the wife of longtime LCT Board Member Leonard Tow, recognizing the Tow Foundation's outstanding leadership support. It will become the home of LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's programming initiative dedicated to producing the work of new artists and the development of new audiences. Completion of the project is anticipated in late 2011 - early 2012.
