The Dutch Apple production of Stand By Your Man provides a non-glamorized portrayal of one of country music's biggest icons.  The performances are very strong within a script that could still use a little work.

Broadway Palm's production of RING OF FIRE gives audience members the chance to learn about Johnny Cash's life while listening to over 30 of his iconic songs. At the beginning of the show, the entire cast introduces themselves by saying, "I'm Johnny Cash," and from then on they each take turns telling stories of his life, through both song and dialogue.

What happens when two of the world's most extraordinary theater companies, the England's Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre of Scotland, make the decision to work together on a sequel to Shakespeare's tragedy Macbeth, one of his darkest and most powerful works? It's no less than a magical combination of talent that makes an improbable tale seem to be the essence of truth about sex, politics and power. Patricia Wolff, Interim Artistic Director of The Wallis adds, "David Greig's thrilling new drama brilliantly straddles the ancient and modern worlds, playing like a cross between "Game of Thrones" and "House of Cards."

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts ('The Wallis') welcomes the National Theatre of Scotland and the Royal Shakespeare Company production of Dunsinane written by David Greig and directed by Roxana Silbert for a limited 13-performance engagement beginning Friday, March 27 to Sunday, April 5, 2015 (press opening Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 8pm) in the Bram Goldsmith Theater.

Dunsinane, presented by The Shakespeare Theatre Company through February 21, shows us that the precarious balance among victor, vanquished, and peace-keeper is a timeless dilemma stretching from Macbeth's heaths to the Iraqi dessert. Dunsinane picks up where Shakespeare's Macbeth leaves off, when the English army, camouflaged as forest trees, kills the tyrant and takes the seat of power. But in the confusion of the skirmish a critical and messy mistake is made: the Queen of Scotland, Lady Macbeth, remains alive. With the queen living and with a claim to the throne, many in the country will refuse to accept a newly-installed king.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) presents Dunsinane, playwright David Greig's majestic sequel to Shakespeare's Macbeth, presented by the National Theatre of Scotland and the Royal Shakespeare Company, and directed by Roxana Silbert. First premiered by the Royal Shakespeare Company at Hampstead Theatre in 2010, this tour marks the U.S. premiere of Dunsinane after a highly successful tour to East Asia and Russia in spring 2014. Hailed by The Guardian as 'a work of compelling intelligence, provocation and wit,' Dunsinane will play at the Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from tonight, February 4-21, 2015.
