In an election year marked by an outpouring of grassroots energy, artists are also working hard to make electoral change in the midterms. So far, 15 artists spanning  a variety of genres have recorded songs for a free digital album, Songs for Swing Left. This is not a standard PSA or call to vote:  downloading any of the tracks on this album will connect listeners to other Swing Left volunteers in their area as well as match them with high-impact things they can do (like canvassing and calling voters in nearby Swing Districts) to help flip the House blue in the upcoming midterm elections. There will be more tracks released as the election nears.

Toronto's beloved annual Dream Serenade benefit concert is back and proudly celebrates its landmark fifth anniversary on Saturday, November 17 at 8pm ET, featuring City and Colour, Barenaked Ladies, The Rural Alberta Advantage, Owen Pallett, Hayden, Weaves, Iskwe and an array of surprise special guests. This year, Dream Serenade will take place at Roy Thomson Hall, sister venue to its regular home Massey Hall while it undergoes a two-year revitalization.

There has been a change in the performance schedule for Goodspeed Musicals' current production CYRANO. Due to the pending departure of one of the cast members, we must close after the 6:30pm performance on September 2, 2018. Previously scheduled performances for August 29-30 and September 5-9 have been cancelled. All other performances will remain as scheduled.

CHVRCHES debut a brand new song “Out Of My Head” featuring acclaimed Japanese electro pop group Wednesday Campanella, alongside its accompanying animé video. Wednesday Campanella are a chart topping trio made up of Kom_I, Kenmochi Hidefumi and Dir.F, who made their debut in 2012 and last year released Superman, their first album for Warner Music Japan; they released their acclaimed Galapagos EP in June. The breathtaking video for “Out Of My Head” is created by director Junichi Yamamoto (Pop Team Epic, Batman Ninja) and art director Yoshiki Imazu (Ringing City, Fluffiction).

The Broad today announced the lineup for the third edition of Summer Happenings at The Broad, a music and performance series sponsored by Leading Partner East West Bank. Hailed by the Los Angeles Times as a “wildly eclectic mix of music and art,” the summer event series – one of Los Angeles' most popular and anticipated events – will showcase more than 35 prominent and emerging artists and performers over four events. Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Peter Dinklage will develop the title role and film actress Haley Bennett will play Roxanne in this bold new musical. Additional casting will be announced at a later date. This exciting musical is adapted by Erica Schmidt in collaboration with members of the Grammy Award-winning indie alternative band The National. Cyrano will run August 3 - September 2, 2018 at The Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn. This project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

CHVRCHES have debuted the video for new single 'Miracle,' the latest song to be lifted from their eagerly anticipated upcoming album, Love Is Dead, out May 25th on Glassnote Records. Directed by Warren Fu (Daft Punk, The Weeknd, The Strokes, The Killers) and shot in one take, the short is CHVRCHES' most striking video to date.

Goodspeed Musicals is thrilled to announce three enticing productions planned for Chester, Conn. in 2018. First will be the inspiring You Are Here by Drama Desk Award nominees Bartram and Hill. This soaring musical will run May 18 - June 10. Next up will be a new musical adaptation of the enduring love story Cyrano. This exciting new take on the classic will be adapted by Erica Schmidt in collaboration with the indie band The National. Cyrano will run August 3 - September 2. Finally, A Connecticut Christmas Carol, a musical adaptation of the Dickens holiday classic spiced with the flavor of the Nutmeg State, returns to The Terris Theatre November 30 - December 30, 2018.

Andrew Bird adds new tour dates in February and March, further supporting his latest piece Echolocations: River (out now via Wegawam Music), with stops in Buffalo, NY, Roanoke, VA and at the iconic Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY among others. Tickets go on sale this Friday. These shows follow Bird's nearly sold-out Gezelligheid winter series, taking place in Chicago and debuting this year in Nashville. Of the seven December dates, limited tickets remain for December 8 in Nashville. Bird also adds a December 15 benefit show in Chicago for Foundations of Music, whose mission is to bring music to underserved Chicago neighborhoods where there are no music education programs.

Massey Hall is set to host the fourth annual Dream Serenade benefit concert on Saturday, November 11, 2017.

Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Andrew Bird is set to tour extensively this summer. He is currently capping off an Australian tour that included shows at the world-renowned Byron Bay Bluesfest and Sydney Opera House with a show at the Melbourne Recital Hall.
