Annie Baker's JOHN Begins Previews Tonight Off-Broadway

Signature Theatre just announced a one-week extension for JOHN, written by Pulitzer Prize winner-Annie Baker (The Flick) and directed by Tony Award-winner Sam Gold (Fun Home). The production, which kicks off Signature's 25th Anniversary Season, will now play through Sunday, September 6. John begins performances tonight, Wednesday, July 22, and opens Tuesday, August 11 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

New Exhibition Series from Broadcast Media Collection Launches in September at Jewish Museum

With a new, ongoing exhibition series called The Television Project, the Jewish Museum will introduce visitors to a dynamic part of its collection: the National Jewish Archive of Broadcasting (NJAB), the largest and most comprehensive body of broadcast materials on 20th century Jewish culture in the United States. The inaugural exhibition, The Television Project: Picturing a People, on view at the Jewish Museum from September 25, 2015 through February 14, 2016, will feature artistically significant program excerpts celebrating the brilliance of writing, directing, performance, and production in American television, as well as related works of art, artifacts, and ephemera. Picturing a People will include clips from the following programs: The Ed Sullivan Show, Northern Exposure, The Twilight Zone, The Goldbergs, The Simpsons, My Name is Barbra, and Eichmann Trial Coverage (ABC News).

Cockpit in Court's THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE Begins Today

Cockpit in Court continues its 2015 season with an old-fashioned musical...Thoroughly Modern Millie. The roaring twenties set the tone for a time when women wanted to become 'moderns', in a funny love story full of clever music and spectacular dancing. The show runs from today, July 17th to August 2nd. Individual tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for senior adults and $14 for children 12 and under.

Tickets Now Available for Broadway-Bound THE GIN GAME, with James Earl Jones & Cicely Tyson

Tickets are now on sale at Telecharge.com for the new Broadway production of D.L. Coburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, The Gin Game, starring Tony Award-winners James Earl Jones and Cicely Tyson.   The Gin Game, directed by Leonard Foglia (Master Class, Thurgood) opens Tuesday, October 13 at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue).  Previews begin Friday, September 18.  The production will play a limited engagement through Sunday, January 10, 2016.

Ed Asner Stars in A MAN AND HIS PROSTATE at Malibu Playhouse Tonight

Malibu Playhouse kicks off a comedy summer season tonight, July 11, with the one-night benefit performance of 'A Man and His Prostate,' starring Hollywood legendary actor, Ed Asner. This is the first produced stage play for noted television writer-producer, Ed. Weinberger, who wrote this one-man comedy serving as his new venture into the theatre world. When asked what it was like working with Asner, Weinberger replied, 'It's always nice being in the hands of a legend.'

Valerie Harper to Join Sally Struthers in NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT at Ogunquit Playhouse

The Ogunquit Playhouse is thrilled to announce that star of stage, screen and television Valerie Harper will join the cast in the role of the wealthy and stylish Millicent Winter in the delightful Nice Work If You Can Get It on stage July 22 to August 15. Also joining the cast is two-time Emmy Award winner Sally Struthers as the Dutchess Estonia, a temperance enforcer who is set against a gang of bootleggers in this madcap musical comedy set during the Roaring Twenties. This brand-new musical written by Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro is based on material by Guy Bolton and P. G. Wodehouse and was nominated in 2012 for 10 Tony Awards, winning two. This high-stepping Broadway musical recalls the golden age of American musicals, complete with extravagant dance numbers, glittering Broadway costumes and a treasure trove of George and Ira Gershwin's most beloved songs, including "But Not For Me," "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off," "I've Got a Crush on You" and "Someone to Watch Over Me."

Founded by Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore, this event features celebrities from the hottest shows on Broadway.  The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will take place on Saturday, July 11 in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:00 p.m. where you meet all the adoptable dogs and cats; celebrity presentations of adoptable pets will take place between 5:00-6:30 p.m. This year's event will be co-hosted by Bernadette Peters and Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon, HBO's 'Girls'). The event is free and open to the public.
