The Virginia Wadsworth Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts at Northwestern University has revealed its 2023-24 season of musicals, dramas and theatre for young audiences by celebrated theater makers. 

Community theatre is where it all begins. Children attain their first production in community theater; life experiences never to be forgotten. A nurturing Mom and Dad could say, “Hey, why not try this. It’s a cool.” Or a friend might comment, “Hey, I auditioned for this show. Come on. Let’s have fun. Let’s do this together.” Some are pulled in. And, if so entranced by the excitement of performing, the supercharged atmosphere of opening night and the culture of the venue, well…the theatrical ‘beast’ explodes and remains within them for the rest of their lives. Yes, theatre people are different. I know that. You know that.

The 2023-24 Season will mark Creative Cauldron’s final season at its current home in Pearson Square, before moving to a new black box theater in the Broad and Washington project.

Stage West is excited to announce the lineup for its 45th season!   The new season will feature six shows, one of which will be a co-production. Four will be presented in the Evelyn Wheeler Swenson Theatre (“The Evie”), with two in the Jerry Russell Theatre.. Fred Barton and Elena Bennett bring their Song Salon back to Pangea!

Beck Center for the Arts, one of the oldest continuously running Youth Theater programs in the nation has announced the delightful Youth Theater musical production, Once Upon A Mattress.

Elena Bennett and Fred Barton have announced the return of their long-hailed 'Bennett & Barton Song Salon,' in the front room of Pangea, on two Tuesdays, April 11 and April 18. The event will run for three hours on each night, between 8:30pm and 11:30pm. There is no cover or minimum.

Rhodes Theatre Guild is closing out its seventh season with an energized take on an iconic musical from Mary Rodgers. This zany modern twist on the tale from Hans Christian Andersen, is directed by Randy Redd and choreographed by Rhodes alumna Cameron Crawford ‘19.
