Paul Robeson: Man Of The People, a new jazz poetry opera will have its Chicago premiere: Friday, June 7, 2024 with a free performance at Hamilton Park District.

Paul Robeson: Man of the People is a new jazz poetry opera chronicling the life, artistic legacy, and activism of the most important and iconic figure of the twentieth century. This live, multimedia presentation explores the life, creative ethos, and inclusive social vision of concert artist, stage and film actor, athlete, and activist, Paul Robeson.

SACRA/PROFANA presents The Hope of Loving, Saturday, February 24, 2024, 3:00 p.m. at Christ United Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $10-$35.

Richarda Abrams' new play, 'Big Mama and Me,' explores the intergenerational relationship between a grandmother and granddaughter. Set in the South and Midwest, the play tells the story of Big Mama, a patented inventor and accomplished composer, and the impact she had on those around her. Presented by RPR Productions, the world premiere runs from March 6-9 at the Episcopal Actors Guild in NYC. Featuring music direction by Amina Claudine Myers and co-production by Peggy Abrams.

Richarda Abrams new play BETHUNE: Our Black Velvet Rose opened on October 9 at Theaterlab in New York City. The World Premiere is hosted by TLab Shares, produced by RPR Production and runs until October 23. The Town Hall opens its 2022/23 concert series spotlighting women composers who have shaped American culture with the New York premiere of Meredith Monk's MEMORY GAME, Saturday, October 15 (8 pm).

The Town Hall has announced details on a series of concerts spotlighting four esteemed women composers who have shaped American culture over the decades: the “Mother of Contemporary Gospel music,” Dr. Elbernita “Twinkie” Clark; legendary singer-songwriter Judy Collins; acclaimed opera composer Laura Kaminsky; and trailblazing composer/singer Meredith Monk.

Registration opens on March 1 for the 2022 spring semester at Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Ringling College (OLLI at Ringling College), which runs March 14-May 27, 2022. The semester features dozens of classes and programs covering a wide variety of topics. Classes are offered in-person on the Ringling College Museum Campus and online via the Zoom platform.

The Town Hall has announced the conclusion of its current virtual season this July as well as unveiling its 2021-2022 centennial in-person season. From music and comedy to politics and LGBTQIA+ events, The Town Hall's upcoming programming is as eclectic and diverse as the famed building itself.  

The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts recently made a very special delivery thanks to the support of Disney. Kravis education team members dropped off more than 500 craft kits to Title I elementary school students throughout Palm Beach County.
